This is a great snack for my grandmother. I think it’s kind of like a Japanese version of an American moon pie. I usually cut one up in quarters and heat it in the microwave until luke warm serve with green tea. The red bean azuke bean filling has a lot of protein as well. I have had one and it really doesn’t taste like any kind of American snack pie or cake. I appreciate being able to get this snack through Amazon as I am a live in caregiver for my grandmother.

I really just wanted to try dorayaki. These are soft, fresh and have a great taste. Unfortunately, they also have a kind of "manufactured" taste as well, as if they weren't baked but rolled off a line. You feel it not while you're eating it but after. That might not really make sense, but I suppose it's the difference between buying a store-bought cookie and buying them from a bakery/making them yourself. As some other people have said, it would have been nice to have more filling as well. Since I've never tried these before, I still enjoyed them overall.
