Superman: Birthright (DC Compact Comics: Superman)

I was a bit concerned after seeing so many reviews about bad packaging and damaged item. But I received the comic completely entact only a few scratches on cover and inside the comic every page is clear, no printing issues, no missing pages. Absolutely worth buying!

THIS IS BIGGER than a Regular Manga trust me. It's also heavier. 🩵 There wasn't any Bubble wrap, should've been. But still The packaging was good. No dents, no creases, the product was Beautiful. The paper quality was thinner & colours doesn't pop like Laser printed magazine paper, which is used in Regular sized DC Comics. But still, the paper is DECENT. The FONT size is Good & readable. Amazing Product, LOVED IT!!!!

Some legends never get old and in Superman we have the most known origin story reworked in a new way that entertains with every page. We also have a detailed description of the origins of another famous person from Smallville, Led Luthor. This volume details his initial friendship with Clark and the brilliant wannabe scientist always thwarted by his own brilliance, his impatience or the Neanderthal nature of his peers and teachers. His eternal quest for alien life from a very young age begs a question whether he was aware that Clark's one too. Left to the imagination here but it manifests itself in later pages with abject hate for Superman. Luthor in his megalomania can never accept anyone else being the centre of attention on earth. Excellent visuals, art and entertainment.

This is a fine origin story for Superman, retrofitted for modern times. Couple of things I don’t like: The art style makes Superman look scary, not warm and inviting. Superman is a little too tough, with many scenes where he’s drawn like a jerk. The third act’s pacing is too fast, blowing through the finale with the resolution feeling too sudden and too convenient. However, there are some nice ideas in there that we haven’t seen in other Superman media.

Fourth Comic I've bought from the DC world. Very quick dispatch and excellent quality.

It arrived looking good, the art is great, easy to follow through and a great run on Clark Kent, would recommend for people that are new to him but don't want to read a ton of old stuff.

Man this story I was worried would be boring cause it’s just an origin of Superman. And honestly how many times will I hear his origin story? But this story, I don’t know how and why I never read it. But it was amazing. I don’t think it does anything super new or drastic. But it’s just enjoyable and does small stuff that I have not seen. The art is nice and everything is readable at this size. I’m so happy with it. Only negative is the copy I received had a few creases on the spine and dents and scratches and smudges on the cover so it definitely was used and I obviously paid for a new one. I did end up exchanging it for a new one that’s in good condition for no extra cost so I’m happy.
