The set I received is made better than any that I've seen available in drug stores or department stores. The steel is heavy gauge and the cutting edges are ground very fine and sharp. The black finish is flawless. I've used each of the clippers multiple times and have not experienced any problems. I have not used the file so it still has the protective strip over the business side. This arrived packaged as follows: - Shipping envelope. - Card stock box, suitable for gifting - Clear plastic bag - A hinged, painted tin box, foam lined with individual cutouts for each tool In other words, the manufacturer invested in a hinged metal box decorated with their logo, fitted the inside bottom of this box with a high density foam approximately 1/4" thick, with cutouts to hold each tool snug and secure. This box was then placed inside a clear plastic bag before inserting this into a card stock box. The set I received was every bit as I interpreted the seller's description.
