Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana) is a tropical fruit that is native to South East Asia. It has a thick outer peel which is dark purple in colour and surrounds a white, juicy pulp which is said to be delicious. Mangosteen rind has a list of polyphenolic acids including xanthones and tannins which provide a powerful antioxidant effect.
