TL;DR These speakers get very loud and have great clarity, even without an amplifier. Could not be happier with these. Mounting was a little tricky due to the way the speaker holes are in my '04 Expedition, but not any fault of the speakers. Once I snipped the side tabs off, they fit great. To be expected, the bass isn't the strongest (I installed a subwoofer regardless, so it didn't matter to me), but for 5x7s they can actually handle some decently low notes when playing rap, and have a very nice punch when playing metal/rock. Highs are very crisp and sharp which I love, and they are crystal clear; the "unparalleled clarity" really isn't an understatement. Mids feel a *little* strong for my liking at times, but not nearly enough to be annoying or overbearing. A nice touch is that they come with two sets of wires if you need them (which some higher end brands don't even include), along with a little decorative sticker. For the price, you genuinely cannot beat these speakers. Absolutely recommend.

If you’re looking for an all-around speaker for your car audio, look no further—you’ve found it with the DS18. These speakers are amazing for a well-balanced sound system. I personally love them. I installed them in the soundbar of my 2013 Jeep Wrangler, and they fit perfectly with the bracket. Installation was straightforward, and everything lined up great. They get loud, deliver crisp vocals, and still handle bass really well. If you want something that gives you a full sound (vocals, mids, and some bass), I’d definitely recommend these over bullet speakers. Plus, they’re more affordable and absolutely worth the money. One thing I highly recommend is adding an amplifier. Most factory or standard head units don’t provide enough power to get the full performance out of these speakers. With an amp, they really come alive. Overall, I would definitely buy these again. Highly recommend.

Great packaging excellent sound great for stock speaker replacement

So far they are nice and crisp on my motorcycle!!! The head unit i had them on was crappy so i spent the extra 💰 for one with a built in amp. Hopefully they dont aound distored at medium high volume like on the old head unit

I installed these onto the front doors of my 2010 Camry LE while I installed sound deadening material. A metra speaker bracket and Camry specific speaker harness are required and is plug and play. Once installed, I tuned the EQ to my liking and overall, they sound great. Lots of detail, no distortion, and handles the 50W my head unit outputs just fine. With that said, there isn’t a lot of low end if that’s something you’re looking for, especially compared to Toyota’s custom JBL speaker for this generation’s Camry. The issue I had with the JBL was that while it had lots of bass, it sounded muddy. These on the other hand are crystal clear and have a good sound stage which is what I was looking for. On another note, the sound is perfect, almost overkill for a computer desk speaker set up. Paired with DS-18’s tweeters, a subwoofer for the low end, and sound deadening material all around, my Camry sounds great. Absolutely no complaints.

The first set of these I received the tweeter was completely broken off they need to handle these better when shipping them or better packaging. On the other hand they do sound pretty solid for the price these hooked up to a small amp get pretty loud the bass is disappointing but I have my sub to handle all the bass and run a high pass filter on on my speakers these can get pretty loud without distortion nothing crazy but for the price it’s solid and a lot better than jvc or alpines I’ve tried I will say they blow easily don’t run over 50w rms

These are pretty good high range speakers but do distort quickly and there is better out there for the money

DS18 build quality is fantastic, the 4x6 is a hard speaker to have sound good and I’m super pleased with these, I would love to hook up an amp to them but I have the power coming from an after market head unit and they have great sound overall, I’d definitely recommend getting some sound deadening to put around the speaker.

These speakers are great! Sturdy build quality and they definitely get loud. The sound is okay, a bit harsh but tuning on your stereo will fix that no problem. They do need a good long break in period before they shine. Bought to install in the rear doors of my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 TRX-4. Gonna get the 6x9s next and already have two 12" subwoofers from DS18 GEN-X series.
