Yes it works for ps5 I have one and plays great.

My controller face buttons and joysticks are way too sensitive. it's really pissing me off. how do i fix?

Yeah about that, they can be tweaked on computers using the required program but really the controller just needs some time break in to get it feeling right. Believe me I had the same issue, it can takes weeks to months of gaming to balance out.
