I have the Hamilton Beach single cup and 12 cup combo. The Senseo pods work just fine, and some of the best coffee you'll ever have.

Q: Is this the same product as the Senseo medium roast pods in the tan and brown packaging that doesn't seem to be available anymore?

I find it to be the same. I got this for my wife who thinks there is a slight difference but not enough for her to not enjoy this. We both don't like when company changes packaging for the sake of updating. Hope this helps. It still is a very good coffee.
