This is such a great show! Enjoyed it so much. No problems with the dvds.

Let me start by saying that Longmire was one of the best shows on TV in recent years. If it had been on any major network, in a 10 PM time slot, I think it would still be gracing the airwaves. I'm of the opinion that A&E made the wrong call by dropping this show. Just because it wasn't watched by their target audience was a poor excuse. Be that as it may, a lot of us really missed the show, even when it went to Netflix to finish its run. Our area has no cable service and poor internet service, so streaming is not an option without going to satellite internet service. As a result we waited almost a year for the release of Seasons 4,5,and 6. I've read almost all of Craig Johnson's books involving Walt and his able crew. Although their are some character differences; I think the portrayal of Walt, Henry, Vic, Ferg, and Ruby are right on the money. When I was reading the books prior to the onset of the series I pictured Henry more like the Will Sampson physically, but after the first season I see Lou Diamond Phillips when his character shows up. As I indicated we were dismayed to hear that the show was cancelled, but they found a way to tie up all the loose ends and close out a terrific show properly. The five stars go not only to Season 6, but all five seasons. it's money well spent to have this series in your library.

Enjoyed the series

After reading all the Longmire books by Craig Johnson if was only natural to follow the Sheriff's exploits in a visual media. My biggest reaction was to learn that the characters I loved so dearly in the books did not follow the same story line in the movies. I understand that to just film the book would be just that so I can see the need to expand the characters and bring on new problems but unfortunately the characters lives and interactions were what made the books and in the videos they were changed so much that they would never have been recognized had you not been told who they were. In and of themselves the series of videos are interesting and exciting and should be watched and watched in order as one grows from the other through all 6 seasons. Normally I would say read the book first then watch the movie but in this instance watch the video production first then read the books saving the very best for last.

I really enjoyed this last season, even though it was a long wait before I could obtain it. I liked the ending, no cliff hangers, a lot of loose ends tied up and the hero got the pretty girl. It could have been less violent though, as the series progressed so did the meanness and violence. All in all a great show and series and I shall miss it.

J'adore les personnages de cette série, le cadre splendide, l'évolution des personnages sur les plans psychologique, humain, spirituel. et Walt bien sûr qui me rappelle les héros des westerns à la Gary Cooper, droit dans ses bottes, défendant ses valeurs en parallèle d'un monde moderne souvent débile et artificiel. Je recommande la série dans son ensemble et les romans !
