Poor fellow couldn't even allow himself to step on his ...
We are the owners of 3 dogs. A mixed lab (5 yrs old) not a pure lab, miniature greyhound (12 yrs old) and a shih tzu (8 yrs old). Our youngest baby (mixed lab) started experiencing joint problems (back hind leg). You would think it would have been his older siblings and not him. This happened from one day to next, no warning. Leg stiffness and limping. Poor fellow couldn't even allow himself to step on his injured hind leg. He would go out limping, only using his 2 front paws and the other good back hind leg. It started out as a slight limp and then progressed and got worse to where he wasn't stepping on his injured hind leg, at all. Wimping and skipping around the house throughout the day in pain. My husband & I were very heart broken, worried & deeply saddened. It seemed worse when he was getting on/off his bed and going through the steps in the back patio. He was constantly wimping throughout the day and remained quite sedentary. I'm sure it was due to the inflammation & pain he was experiencing. This lasted for about 3 weeks. It broke our hearts and we were deeply saddened. I am not one to give Rx medicine. All that would do is fill the pockets of the pharmaceutical companies and mask the problem. The actual problem would not be taken care of. We thought it was his dog bed at first & or a sprain due to his excessive bolting out the back door and running after the squirrels outside all the time. He is too young to be experiencing joint problems, he's only 5 yrs old and for pete's sake he is a mixed lab. We hear stories of this happening more likely to a pure breed lab, not a mutt mixed lab. He isn't even overweight. He is at an ideal weight, We had him checked out at the vet for peace of mind. No official sprain or broken bones, thank goodness. The vet diagnosed him with early stages of arthritis. Jesus, if this the early stage of arthritis, I can't even imagine the horrible symptoms once it's fully progressed to full blown arthritis in canines. it After doing my research through Amazon, I came across this one. It stuck out to me the most due to the real ingredients and high reviews. It's been a few weeks now and I can and will honestly say that this has made a world of a difference for the better in his body. We have seen a MAJOR improvement in his skin & coat and mobility. This applies to his older brother & sister too, not that they needed this, but they can definitely benefit from it. All three of our babies take this daily now. The pure alaskan salmon oil and the premium blend bacon flavored glucosamine oil, both Pure Paw brand. I was worried that they wouldn't take it. My dogs are very finicky. If it doesn't smell good, it surely doesn't taste good either - so they will not even lick it, to try it. I was anxious & worried. They actually LOVED IT! My husband and I were so relieved & happy. I didn't have to go through hoops and loops for them to take it. They did it on their own and each licked their bowls dry, expecting to receive more. This happens every time, each day when I give them both this pure alaskan salmon oil and the premium blend bacon flavored glucosamine oil, same brand - Pure Paw. We give it to them by drizzling the recommended dosage on top of their dog food, daily. We noticed the improvement within days. My lab has regained full mobility now. His back hind leg doesn't stiffen up anymore. He can get on/off bed just like before, with no problem. He went back to his favorite thing to do, chasing the squirrels. He goes out the back door, down the steps with no issues. No more wimping, either. I highly recommend this. What do you have to lose? Pure Paw is not paying me anything to write this review. We are not expecting anything in return, either. I don't even right reviews for items we purchase, but this time is an exception though. I'm writing this review for all the moms & dads out there who have beloved canines, to know that there is something out there we can give them and it truly works!! My husband & I are immensely grateful to Pure Paw brand. I'm doing it because I want to share my story and it can help other families and their beloved dogs when the time comes that your dog will need to be on supplements. This product can help prolong their life to be longer & healthier. Seeing is believing. Their skin will greatly improve to not be dry and itchy and their coat will glisten, this will significantly reduce the scratching if any and greatly improve their mobility issues. It's been about three few weeks for us now that we started giving them both of this supplements. Our mixed lab no longer suffers from joint problems - at all (no, we are not kidding), he is as agile as when he was a pup, full of energy. Perhaps because we started them on this early on, when symptoms were just starting to arise with our mixed lab. We give all three of them both this pure alaskan salmon oil & the glucosamine premium blend bacon flavor oil for our peace of mind & their health. Keep in mind - you would have to purchase separately the glucosamine oil. It's made in the USA. Supplements is the way to go, instead of expensive prescribed pain killers with horrible side effects. We are letting all of our friends know that your company's products are great and they deliver what's promised. God bless your company. Pure Paw, thank you for your products!

Great results three weeks in!
I chose this brand over others because I liked the fact that the only ingredient listed is "Wild Alaskan salmon oil" (other brands listed preservatives and/or fillers) and because of the large 32 oz bottle available. I have two 60+ pound girls (Husky and chocolate Lab) and estimate this bottle will last about 6 weeks. The oil is a clear amber color, and the "fishy" smell is there but is not overpowering. The pump works great, even when the oil gets thicker because of refrigeration, and it only drips one or two drops when I forget to clean the nozzle after use. I bought this as a preventative for any joint issues (both are young, neither has joint issues and I want to keep it that way) and because my Lab girl had a LOT of dandruff on her back and was very itchy/licking her paws constantly. (despite eating healthy grain-free foods, and regular Oatmeal baths). Vet visits would calm things down but after her vet pills ran out, the symptoms would start up again. I started to do some research and came across people who got good results with pure salmon oil and decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did! I started putting the oil in their food twice daily (started out with half the recommended dose for the first two days as a precaution) and both of them loved the flavor! Even my Husky girl, who is VERY selective about what she will eat. Two weeks in, I started to see an improvement on her "itchy levels", less dandruff, and she slept more peacefully. By the third week she barely has any dandruff and the itchiness is almost gone! I am confident that with continued daily use as part of her health regimen, she will be out of the woods soon. As an added bonus, both of them are so shiny and soft, even more so than before! I am convinced that this oil was a big part of her improvement and both girls will be getting this supplement for the rest of their lives.

It Really Works!
My 10 year old lab mix, Cody, was diagnosed a little over a year ago with some kind of arthritis/pain in his lower back/hindquarters. He was so miserable- some days he could not even get up off of his bed in the mornings. His vet put him on carprofen and gabapentin, and it fixed him right up- he felt great again. But the vet said we needed to try to get him on a lower dose (or off of it completely) so it wouldn't damage his liver. Every time I would try to lower or skip a dose, he would be in pain again- unable to get up off of his bed. :( When I read about this Salmon Oil, I thought it *might* help him...and my other dog, a 10 year old beagle mix, was starting to kind of limp a little bit now and then, and was going up and down stairs a little bit slower, so I thought it might help him, too. I thought, "Well, it's kind of expensive, but if it helps...." So I ordered the big 32 oz. bottle. It arrived Feb. 1, and I started giving it to all three of my dogs that very night. I knew it wouldn't work overnight, or even in a week. I decided to give it about a month. This kind of stuff takes time to kind of get into the body and start working. Finally, after about 5 weeks, I skipped giving Cody his pain meds (carprofen) one night. He was FINE the next day. And the next, and the next!! He has not had a pain pill since March 8! I d/c'ed the gabapentin shortly after that, and he has not had any problems whatsoever. He is happy and runs around easily, and is pain-free. I am SO happy! The beagle mix seems to be feeling better, too. He did not have the severe problems that Cody did, but he seems to get around more easily than he did. I have not seen him get up slowly after lying down for awhile, and then walk slowly for a few paces until he kind of warms up- I haven't been seeing him do that anymore. :) I dose them according to the label on the bottle. I mix it into their dry food at night, and they love it. Cody sees me get it out of the fridge and he starts barking for it- he knows why he feels better! The big 32 oz. bottle lasted us (3 dogs) about 7 weeks. So the price of the oil, $34.95, divided by three dogs and seven weeks, comes down to about $1.66 per week, per dog. That's not much for good health, and seeing them feel better is priceless. :) And the meds were more expensive than that, and were hard on his liver! So I am really happy about my decision to try this Salmon Oil- and I just ordered another big bottle last week. I don't want to be without this stuff- it really works for us! This is a real review. I didn't get anything for it- I'm just thrilled that it works!

Seems to be working
Our five-year-old dog began exhibiting itchy allergy symptoms earlier this year. We began special shampoo, spray, diet, and medication provided by our vet. After several weeks of this routine, she showed some improvement, but we were hoping not to have to medicate her forever. After discussing other options with the vet, I asked about adding fish oil to her diet. The vet was enthusiastic about this idea, and after researching several options, we chose Pure Paw. We have been adding this to her food once a day for about a month now. It's still early in the process, but we believe we have seen improvement in her symptoms that can be directly traced to the fish oil. We have been able to wean her down to one allergy allergy pill a week, and we hope to be able to drop the medication completely soon. The final test will come early next year during the season that her symptoms started this year. She loves the taste, and has since the first time we offered it in her food. She tolerates it very well, and has not exhibited any of the digestive upsets our vet warned us to look for. Her coat seems to be more shiny, and not as "wild." As an additional bonus, the pump bottle makes it easy to measure the correct amount to give her without pouring, measuring, and probably spilling, each time. I have given only four stars right now because it is still early, and I want to observe her a little longer. I will be happy to upgrade to the full five stars in a couple of months if she is still benefiting from it by then.

DOGS LOVE THIS OIL
I bought this for my dogs itching problem and for heart disease. Has many benefits. This product smells like fish but it's not overwhelming. My dogs are super picky and they love this oil in there food. They both love the smell, and taste. They lick their bowls clean. Only draw back is the dispenser. The pump is bad. It took 2 people trying to figure out how to get pump open. In the end, I had to take it out of the bottle and pull as hard as I could to get it to pop up. Took about 5 min. of pulling up and twisting (no joke), was very messy and no pump should have to be like this. Almost called and reported pump defective. I have 2 dogs, one gets a full pump and the other gets a 1/2 pump. It is impossible to do 1/2 pump. The dog needing 1/2 pump, I try to spoon a little from other dogs bowl or I take pump out and drizzle a few drops on his food. If I give to much he gets diarrhea. So I have to be careful. It has been 5 weeks since I have been using product. Results for dog with 1 full pump of oil. My dog Lily has itching problems. She has not been up all night licking as much as she used to. I have to say her coat is the best I have ever seen it. So shiny and luxurious. Results for my dog that gets 1/2 pump. Since the pump cannot do half. I put my finger between pump and bottle. But the pump is a 1 pump only. It is impossible to only go half way down. So my boy Bosley twith heart disease does not get what he needs. If I give him to much it's diarrhea. So I have managed to give him 3-4 drops because it's to hard to gauge. His coat is not as shiny as my other dogs. He is getting very little benefit because of the pump. Great product hands down but pump needs to be replaced.

Wow, this stuff is amazing!!! Love, Love, Love!!!!!
I have used a high end salmon oil before and we had some stomach issues with it, it was expensive and I just didn't notice a difference. But let me tell you,,,,,, I started noticing a huge difference quickly with one of our shepherds. She had just weaned a litter of pups and as many may know, they lose a lot of fur and sometimes just don't look that great. She looks amazing now and is softer than ever. Case #2,,, I have a Czechoslovakian Vlcak whose coat has always felt like a brillo pad, well no more! He is softening up and doing great. He is a tough one because he has a VERY delicate tummy. I also have a black and tan German Shepherd that is fed well and just has never had a shine to him, well he does now. Our other black and tan has always looked like smooth shiny black velvet. He is starting to look like her. I also give it to our other twe Czech Vlcak females and our tiny, tiny 3 pound chorkie who has never had a good coat bless her heart. She is starting to get some new growth in and starting to shine as is our chubby little Boston Terrier. And I love the fact that this is just salmon oil! That's it, no other nasty or useless ingredients. So you see, I have tried this on 8 dogs with amazing affects and hope you will have the same. I paid full price for this and I am in no way affiliated with Pure Paw just so you know this is from the heart. @apollospack

Pure Paw Alaskan Fish Oil is a MUST!!!! Great results and the furbabies LOVE the taste!!!
Absolutely love this!!! I've been waiting to leave a review on this product because I wanted to make sure this product actually works and does what it says it does. My veterinarian and my sister recommended fish oil but I've always been hesitant. I didn't want to give my boys the capsules and I've been waiting for a pump type bottle like this. My dogs will no longer touch their food without this Pure Paw fish oil! I just squirt the fish oil once into each of my furbabies bowls and the food is devoured lol. My Chihuahua mix and yorkie have allergies and they were constantly scratching. I felt so bad for them because they would scratch so much they would start whining. Since I've been using the fish oil for about 6 months now, their skin and coat looks so much healthier!! They no longer have dry skin and you don't even see anymore flakes of dandruff. My yorkie is almost 12 years old and has cataracts and I'm noticing that its also slowing down in progression after using this. I highly recommend this product Pure Paw for all dog owners and it is definitely worth the money! I personally won't use any other product for my boys other than Pure Paw. With all of the constant recalls on pet food and so many other products, I only purchase "Made In the USA" products anymore for both myself and my furbabies. Pure Paw is Made in the USA and although it's not "cheap" it is definitely worth the extra dollar or two because I know it's a safe product for my two furbabies. I have heard nothing but the best and I personally can see why! Thank you Pure Paw for making great products! You will forever have a life long customer! Keep up the great work!!!

Kitty-approved oil. The bottle itself, not so much.
Review Update: November 2017 - The first bottle was great, but the second bottle self-syphoned about a 3rd of its contents inside the fridge, dripping down all the shelves. I'm guessing a defective pump. It wasn't very fun or easy to clean up, and at these prices, it was an expensive mess too. I liked the product itself, but not sure if I will order again. My original 5-star review is now a low 3. ___________________________ Original Review: My cat loves your salmon oil - of course. In fact, she now likes it so much, she's beginning to act like a furry little crackhead every morning waiting for her salmon oil "fix!" I like to spread droplets of the oil around the top of her breakfast meal, but instead of trying to guess a "half-pump" or dirty a 1/4tsp measure everyday, I measured out how many oil droplets it takes to fill a 1/4tsp measuring spoon. I ran this experiment 5 times and found that 10-11 droplets of (refrigerated) salmon oil = 1/4tsp. I rounded it down to 10 droplets since my my cat is only 8lbs. But the bottom line is that she now gets a more proper "fix," and I get to better economize the 8oz bottle of oil. Win-win.

Youngest dog with allergies, this seems to help a lot
I have 2 dogs, one is a lab and healthy. The youngest suffers many skin problems due to food and seasonal allergies. I make frequent trips to the vet during the year. I have been using more natural products lately, the vet is 300.00 a pop and it only takes 3 or 4 visits to feel the crunch. Food allergies are easy to manage, we just avoid her allergens and for my pup, we just no longer purchase potato and flax products for the home. Seasonal allergies are another ball of wax. I had been using medicated shampoos, emu oil, and essential oils to calm and soothe her skin and to prevent secondary yeast and other skin maladies. I hate the regime the vet uses, corticosteroids and antibiotics... the ear and eye drops work from the vet, but the key is preventing flare-ups and I felt that we have only been reacting to her symptoms the last 4 years and the vet is taking advantage of us. I give my dog biotin and a very good probiotic and she is a restricted commercial raw diet based on chicken, you would be surprised how many dog foods use potato and its starches and flax as the omega. I wanted to add good quality fish derived Omega's and always worry about flax so I am glad to say that the results of this oil are very, very good. Now the good part, my dog's scratching has been reduced a lot. Her skin is not nearly as inflamed and so I can see that it is benefiting her, and we just started it about a week ago. I still have to watch her eyes because of her hayfever, but that may improve in time as we continue the product and as the season passes. This has been added to a shopping list and will be purchased again, the pump works great and it's easy to dispense, and both dogs love the taste and I can see in my dog's improvement that it is good quality and that it works.

My dog loves it
I like the convenient packaging , just one pump is sufficient enough for my dog. It smells legit too.

Oil colour is different than the 8oz bottle
I initially bought the small 8oz bottle. and my cat loved it! So i reordered the 32oz. but then the larger bottle oil is much darker and orange. and my cat refused to eat his food with the oil. i am sure the bottle is sealed and there is no foul smell so far. so did the manufacturer change the formula? anyone experience this? I find it very strange especially since its the exact same product

Quite Pleased With Results
I know cats can be very particular so I'll acknowledge that this product might not be a perfect solution in every household but it's worked out very well so far for mine and is almost certainly worth a try in others. I share my home with a fussy little princess and a happy-go-lucky hobo cat who rarely agree on anything and yet they both seem to enjoy this component immensely when added to their evening meals. Their fur has grown comparatively more soft and glossy over the last few weeks and formerly excessive dandruff has largely diminished. Previously dry and itchy ears appear to cause them much less discomfort now as well. Finally, I don't personally notice any markedly unpleasant odors in implementation and the simple pump dispenser hasn't created any messes. I am delighted by what I have observed and plan to continue using this product for the foreseeable future.

Great stuff, but..
I have purchased both this Salmon supplement and Glucosamine supplement (in both bacon and original flavour) and I absolutely love the products. I have two dogs, one 12 year old black lab and another 4 year old cocker spaniel. My lab has some hip issues and all three options seem to help her tremendously. Like more so than every other product I've tried (and I've tried many!). All options give her the energy to play and the pain relief to jump and run around again. The Salmon oil, seems to be great for my spaniels skin. He has seasonal allergies, and while so many things do not seem to help his itch, this stuff does. Problem is, the stuff keeps going as unavailable. The supplier's website does not ship to Canada, and when it's consistently out of stock on Amazon it's very discouraging. We tried the original Glucosamine, and within 2 - 3 bottle purchases, it was no longer available. We switched to the bacon flavour, again, 2 - 3 bottles later, it's unavailable. So Then we tried the Salmon, it works as well as the other two, so we went to purchase another bottle, and yet again, no longer available. I see the hemp and salmon seems to still be available, but I'm reluctant to keep trying this brand if I can't get a consistent supply. It works great, and I love seeing my babies happy, but I need to find a product that works and is more readily available when needed.. Watching my Shadowface go from great to in pain after a week of not having this stuff, is not easy. Would love if this brand could figure things out for their Canadian consumers.
