where does the battery go?

? It’s a receiver ? So it goes inside a remote control car or plane ect, which will have its own battery already this just picks up the signal from the handset

RX switches on and flashes but never binds with my FSi6, anyone have a solution?

You can try switching the transmitter's protocol - SYSTEM - RX SETUP - RF STANDARD - say 'YES' to AFHDS This will only apply to the model you are setting up with the GR3E. Other models stored on the transmitter will still have the AFHDS2A default protocol.
