This Liogier 6" Modeller’s Rasp #14 (Very Fine Cut) is an even shorter, narrower and finer cut than other Modeller’s rasps. Modeller’s rasps feature both convex and flat sides, but this rasp with its #14 stitching is a very fine toothed tool for the most delicate shaping work. Luthiers find Modeller’s rasps handy for scroll and neck work. We also hear folks shaping walking sticks like them. Using high quality hand stitched rasps – like Liogier Rasps is simply a joy. Whether roughing out a leg or fine-tuning a delicate feature, you just can’t get along without them.Explanation of Stitching: Grains are numbered from #1 (the coarsest) to #15 (the finest).

Get what you pay for!!!!
These files are a bit expensive, but they are worth every penny in time saved and jobs completed easier. I find them to be worth it.

As good as...
I'd say the Logier rasp is as good as the Auriou. The Logier modelers rasp with #14 grit is quite a lot coarser that Auriou modeler at #15. Not a complaint, just FYI.

A real pleasure to use!
I never thought there would be much difference between this and an inexpensive rasp. I was wrong; hand-made rasps are a pleasure to work with. The difference is night and day. I will buy more.
