Good quality buy
Zone 8 coastal Root I recieved has taken well into raised bed garden and has delt with a few cases of light snow and still keeps shooting up new leaves and has taken well to the garden with minimal effort. Will buy again once gardening expands.

Easily Grows
This was my first time ordering fresh horseradish from anywhere, so I took the risk with this and ordered February 2023. The order arrived in good time. Happy to say the pieces that arrived were large and fresh and were already showing signs of sprouting. A few weeks later at the beginning of March I planted them in a 24" inch diameter pot. Soon they showed sprouts coming up out of the soil. They grew and filled out the pot in no time. They loved getting water frequently, and early January 2024 I finally harvested some roots since the plants were dormant. I carefully dumped the pot over and easily harvested a bunch of roots from the surface/bottom of the root ball. They were sufficient for the large amount of Fire Cider I was going to make, which is the primary reason I bought these roots to plant. I also want to make my own horseradish sauces for sandwiches, too.Be warned that good horseradish is potent when cutting or grating! It will sting your eyes like cutting onions does, but at least closing your eyes immediately tames the burn, unlike onions. lol Be sure to water your horseradish well for firm, potent roots. If you don't want your horseradish to take over your yard/garden, plant in a large pot, preferably one piece per 24"+ inch pot as it is a very vigorous grower. Elevate your pot off the ground at least a few inches, also, to prevent roots from coming out of the holes in the bottom and getting into your soil... which is unfortunately what happened with mine. lol Otherwise, if you don't care about planting it directly in the ground, that's fine, too!

Make a grown man cry!
Has it been a year yet? The root arrived in moist paper towel in baggie in package, no mold. I cut it into several pieces, it grew quickly in large pots, survived 2 freezes. I thought they died but found out it was a sort of hibernation, trimmed them to the nub, now they have more than tripled in size. A pretty plant, leaves get about 2 feet tall, the leaves also are edible. All info I found states flavor is more intense after 2nd year. As a bonus these pots are next to other vege pots and no bugs on them. I thought it was a great price for an experiment, and something I've not found fresh in stores. This will definitely put some spice in life HA
