OMG! This shreds cheese (cheddar, jack, Colby) like a boss! So easy. The shoot is wide enough for 1/4 of a 2# block of Tillamook cut lengthwise. For a 5# block you have to slice a bit off, but it's very close. Put it in the freezer for a little while before you shred for best results, but if you're in a hurry, just refrigerated works. Some cheese will stick to the wheel, but it's easy to clean. I will never hand-shred again!

I bought this for myself and ended up liking it enough that I bought one for my mom too. I use it a lot for shredding cheese because I don’t like the powdery coating on pre-shredded cheese. I also use it when I make homemade egg rolls and it cuts everything just right. I really like that you can switch out the cones depending on what you need to slice or shred. It’s also a really good value for the money, and I like that it doesn’t take up a ton of space so it stores really well in my kitchen. It’s easy to take apart and clean, which is a big plus because I hate kitchen gadgets that are more trouble to clean than they’re worth 😂 The only downside for me is that it is a little loud when it’s running, but that hasn’t stopped me from using it. Overall I’m really happy with it and would definitely buy it again.

This was a wedding shower gift so I can't review this particular one. However, I've had a salad shooter since they were the new kid on the block and absolutely love it. They have upgraded the look of the body but the cones are the same. It comes with 2 cones, a medium shredder and a slicer. You can find additional cones for purchase so I added 2 extra cones to the gift, both fine shred and large shred. I wish there was a thicker cut slicing cone but so far I haven't found one. My mother slices a lot of her veggies for vegetable soup with this versatile appliance, while I primarily shred cheese and carrots. When it comes to cleaning, an old toothbrush is your friend, cleaning the holes in the cone without shredding your sponge or cloth. The faster you wash the parts, the easier to clean. Cheese can be tough but if you rinse in hot water first, it seems to melt away. Do not leave the cones sitting in very soapy and hot water for an extended period of time. I learned this the hard way. Other than the cutting surface and the motor, this is primarily plastic. Eventually, it gets brittle but it takes a long time. Mine is yellowing somewhat, and the cord is getting stiff. I lost cones because I soaked them, over and over, and it shortened their shelf life. It's a real work horse. I can shred massive amounts of zucchini, carrots and cheese quickly and efficiently, wash up in about 5 minutes and move on. I can't live without mine. It makes food prep much easier.

This just died after 5 years of use. I actually loved this because of its compact size and ease of use. But it struggled with cheddar cheese which was the main thing I bought it for. After a few cubes the cheese would gum up inside the grater and I would have to take it apart and clean it. I just read an article on line that said to put the cheese in the freezer for half an hour and spray the blade with salad oil. This might have been fine but I left the cheese in the freezer too long and it was frozen solid. I did not get through the first block. The stress was too great. Something cracked and now it makes a horrible noise. It already had a crack in the frame which was not affecting its performance. I have ordered a new and more powerful grater but this one would have lasted longer if I had not overworked it. Cheddar was the only thing it struggled with.

I’ve only had it a few weeks, but I already LOVE THIS electric shredder! I’ve been shredding my own cheese using a handheld crank shredder for years that was really difficult to use and finally got fed up with it. After reading lots of reviews, I went with the Salad Shooter and so far I’m not disappointed! It’s small enough to easily fit in the drawer, but has had no trouble shredding many types of block cheese Ive put through it. It’s very easy to disassemble, clean and reassemble. The mandolin blade has been great for slicing small potatoes, too. My only complaint is that I wish it came with a grater blade in addition to the shredder and mandolin blades. I shred a LOT of cheese, and thing has already made my life easier!

The OG! Love this for cheese grating mainly. Haven’t tried it on other items yet. Easy to clean.

Love this and is a must have in my kitchen. I recommend to everyone to get one. Although it is called a salad shooter I haven't tried it with vegetables. I use it as a cheese shredder. I buy blocks of cheese when they are on sale and shred myself. Fast and easy! If you let the extra cheese dry on without washing it is a bit hard to clean. If I am unable to wash it right away I put it in a container and fill with very hot water. Melts away and ready to be washed when I have time.

If there was an option for 0 stars I would rate it as that. Bought this product, on first use within 30 seconds of grating cheese the grater caught alight, filled my kitchen with smoke. Very dangerous, should not be being sold!!! I’m unable to return as we got rid of the original packaging, so I’m also £50 down. Awful product.

This product conforms to United States of America's electric standards viz., 120 VOLTS , 0.55 AMP, 66 WATT. So, be careful while using in India, use adapter/step down transformer. DO NOT PLUG DIRECTLY INTO INDIAN MAIN ELECTRIC SUPPLY. The chute area is not enough, it can't accommodate even one bigger carrot/celery, have to slice it into two or three. Good for one or two kilo moderate quantity, not suitable for heavy duty. Rest is fine. The plastic is of good quality, logistic team efforts are laudable for their packaging standards.

I bought this as a gift because all the reviews were great, however the one thing it neglegted to say was this product is not a uk plug and to be able to use it you need a convertor (only found this out once gift was opened) Hopefully we can get this sorted and get to use it otherwise it's money wasted
