Slowly reducing the mice...
These walk the plank mousecatchers are easy to install and work well. We've caught about 10 mice so far. We have them set up back by our compost pile where too many rodents were creating issues. I like that they are set up and forget. I do check the bucket daily and remove any mice with a small rake...and bury them. Just have to remember to top up the water occasionally as it evaporates away over time. I bought a 'spin roller' bucket mousecatcher at the same time. The 2 buckets are set right next to each other and both baited with peanut butter. Not a single mouse has been caught in the 'spin roller'; all 10 mice were caught in the walk the plank bucket.

Worked better than i expected
We had just moved in to a new house only to find out we had 4 legged squatters living in the attic. I watched a couple of youtube videos and decided to get this 'Dunker' . I did not want to use poison based traps since i have three little kids in the house. I used peanut butter and nuts as bait and used one of those Home Depot "Orange Buckets" that cost about $1.78 as a dunking 'pool'. To my surprise i caught three kritters on the first night. A few weeks later we have not seen or heard any more mice running around after dark. This was a definite great buy.Just an update, I noticed a few months later we still had some mice lurking around the house, so I pulled the ‘dunker’ from the garage storage and I set it up again, a few hours later there was yet 3 mice floating in the bucket....this is by far the most effective tool out there.

Layers of plywood were coming apart
This is really cheaply made. Wood is unfinished, unsanded, splintering, and the layers of the plywood where the counterweight is installed caused the plywood to come apart on the ends. It's all flaking off.I wouldn't even test it as I'm afraid it will break after a few uses. I'm just sending it back. I could glue it but why should I have to, it supposed to be brand new.Looks to be only good for small mice and we have mice and rats and I think the rats are too big for this anyway. Much smaller than I imagined.

Totally works, don’t waste money on plastic versions
This product is superior to the plastic one on Amazon. It is weighted just right to where the mouse can walk out to where the bait is before it falls in. The plastic one isn’t and it tips too soon so that the mice don’t walk out on it. 4 stars because the wood cannot handle moisture or oil. Mine broke after falling in a bucket that had some olive oil in it. My fault, but it would have been nice if the wood was better treated to resist moisture and oil. Just bought another one of these after the plastic one didn’t work. Thanks much, folks. May God bless you.

Great trap!
I got two of these yesterday and installed them on a Home Depot bucket. Fit perfectly, and held very secure. I added two ramps, covered with sandpaper (to give the mice a better grip) and added an eye bolt to the end of the ramp. I installed a screw under the top of the ramp for the eye bolt. Now the ramp is held securely and comes off in a second or two when needed. I had to add a screw to the edge of one of the ramps, since it was a little off balance and wouldn't consistently return when pushed down into the bucket. I guess since these are real wood there are inconsistencies in the weight of the wood. Not a problem and and easy fix. All in all a good deal for the price and I would recommend this trap.

Imported knock-off
I wish I had noticed that this is not the original trap, which is available from kentuckymousetraps-dot-com, but is a copy from China. I don't if it's any less effective, but I wouldn't hope for much customer service if I needed it, compared to Kentucky Mousetraps, who are in my own country. The only issue I've seen with the quality is that the screws had actually caused the plywood to split. I don't know if that was due the quality of the plywood, or if they simply neglected to drill pilot holes, but it seems like the kind of flaw that you see from large mass-production operations but not from small businesses that are more attentive to quality control. So far I haven't caught any mice, but I'm still hoping to.

mice are cute but they destroy
I've had these before and they work. I plan to put a light coat of polyurethane on them are they are made of thin plywood and humidity separates the layers in a year or two. One of the edges was already separating and I injected some exterior wood glue in the crack and clamped the plywood. One mouse already dispatched.
