I have used a variety of a protein powders over the years. Typically consume after workouts at the gym or following a run. This is the first protein powder that caused bloating and excessive gas. The taste is good and the ingredients seem OK but for some reason it did not work for me.

Trutein really is the best protein powder out there. It mixes a lot smoother with water than others (texture). I personally don't like all the flavors, but it tastes like what the flavor says it is. The banana doesn't taste like the "old timey" banana flavor in taffy -- it tastes like the ones you get at the store now, the flavor of the whole shake is reminiscent of banana pudding. The shakes are actually thick if you use 8 oz of whatever liquid, and they thicken up (just enough to notice a difference) as they sit if you leave it overnight. I think it tastes better with unsweetened plain almond milk, so I mix with 8 oz milk, and top off with 4 oz water. I purchased once from Amazon to give a try (also ratings), but I purchase from the manufacturer site now (body nutrition). There's usually a better price. Samples ship free.

I started working out over a year ago & noticed that I wasn't getting enough protein to fuel my body. So I started asking around & buying trial packs of protein & found some that had an ok flavor.....but I didn't feel satisfied as far as hunger goes. So I researched for a few weeks looking for the perfect protein. I knew I wanted a whey & casein blend, the whey is fast absorbing & the casein is a slower absorbing protein. So I ordered the trutein (vanilla bean) & made my first protein shake with it. It was so good, it was like cheating on my diet. The directions say to mix it with 8oz of water or milk, I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk to cut the calories down. I also found that adding 2Tbsp powdered peanut butter & a banana make it taste so so good. Also I use 12oz of almond milk because the flavor is strong enough to flavor it with one scoop & adding the extra almond milk only adds 15 more calories. This shake helped me feel satisfied & held me over for a couple of hours until a meal, plus I noticed I wasn't feeling tired & worn out like I was before I started making the shakes. I have tried a couple of different brands since trying the trutein only because I was out & needed it immediately but I always, always go back to my trutein. If you've never tried it go for it, you will love the taste & the satiety.

This stuff rocks. The profile is great, flavor good, and love the mixability.

This powder has a really nice taste to it, and I really appreciate the amino profile. I would only say what others have also said: this powder has a very fine texture and tends to "poof" when you blend it, so pulse a little bit first to work it in before blasting it. I also don't like to blend it too long, especially if it's with milk, because a lot of air can get whipped into it with its fine texture, and I don't like feeling like I'm drinking foam (not to mention swallowing all the air).
