good value
The 1000/6000 grit combination makes it easy to both restore dull blades and give them a fine, polished edge. Even knives that had become noticeably blunt were much sharper after just a few minutes of use.

Good Sharpening Stone for Beginners
I bought this Angerstone 1000/6000 grit whetstone to sharpen some kitchen knives at home, and overall Iโm pretty happy with it. The two-sided grit is very useful โ the 1000 grit helps restore dull knives, and the 6000 grit gives a really nice polished edge. The non-slip base works well and keeps the stone stable while sharpening. I also like that it comes with an angle guide, which is helpful if youโre new to using a whetstone like me.It does take a little practice to get the technique right, but once you get the hang of it, the results are great. My knives feel noticeably sharper now.The only small downside is that the angle guide feels a bit basic, but it still helps maintain the right sharpening angle.Overall, a solid sharpening kit and great value for the price. Perfect for anyone who wants to start sharpening knives at home.

Great Stone at a fair price
This is my first sharpening stone, so take my review for what it is... so far, it has worked very well, and it was much easier to use than I expected. The stone is of good quality and seems durable.

Difficult, but it works
After trying several "easy-to-use" sharpeners that didn't work well, or in the case of my $100 chef knife, dulled badly, I tried this. At first, it didn't seem to be working, but be patient. My knife was dull, so it took a while. WATCH SOME VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE. Also, buy a honing tool to maintain edge between sharpenings. Conclusion? Finally, finally my knife is sharp again. I can cut fruits and vegetables fast and easy. It's been so long it feels like a luxury. If you really like having a sharp knife, get rid of the gimmics and do it like a professional.Admittedly, my first time took a while, and I don't think my knife is as sharp as it could be. However, its pretty darn sharp, and now that I've learned the basics (it's a bit of a learning curve), I'm sure with practice I'll be able to get my knives as sharp as I want.A few ending comments...This takes work, some research, and a little practice. But after this investment, I'll never worry about a darn dull knife again. Even with the work that's involved, there's something very satisfying about sharpening the knives with a stone. It feels good to do it like a professional. It also feels good to have my knives back, especially my chef, which is easily one of the most important tools in my kitchen.

Have a knife? Buy this stone.
This thing has been a stalwart addition to my kitchen. I've had this thing for years and have seen almost no wear or damage even after dropping it on my counter. If you know what your doing you dont even really need the angle guide but it is nice to have. With maybe 2-5 minutes of effort maybe 10 on a big old rusted knife this stone will have that thing razor sharp. Its stupid easy. In an hour I was able to successfully paper test all 12 of my knives having sharpened them with this stone. You cannot beat the price or the usefulness. Respect your cutlery and get you one of these stones.

good price, works great
Works great, might try diamond stones next

Appropriate
Stone looks good except for the minor chips on the side which should not have a direct effect to the usage (No quality control). Have used Arkansas stones (which requires oil) so will have to see if this works as good or better.

pietra per affilare
mi piace tagliare con coltelli affilati. ci vuole un po' di mano, ma una passata ogni mese a tutti i coltelli in cucina, fa la differenza
