Q: Are these like soft paws where they have locking ridges, or are they smooth inside the cap? Is the adhesive dental glue?

Not sure what you mean by ridges; I've never noticed any on either kind but maybe I just don't know to look for. I find that Soft Paws fit better on the cats I've used both types on and they stay on as well as I'd expect of any such product. The adhesive is like nail glue or tissue glue. I am unfamiliar with dental glue. If you use too much and it oozes out, you WILL glue yourself to the cat.

Q: Will the cat still scratch their scratching surfaces wearing these, b/c of so won't they fall off sooner?

Scratching is a normal behavior for cats. The nail caps do not interfere with this. The caps will come off when the cat naturally shed their nails which is about 2-4 weeks. If this is your cats first time wearing nail caps they may not last that long due to the cat trying to remove them with its mouth, it’s a new experience that they will adjust to.

Q: Will one set work for both cats and dogs if they both need medium, or do I need to buy a pack for each animal?

Hello, You would need to order the dog and cat nail caps individually. They are not going to to universally work between a dog and a cat.Thank you
