Review: Comfortable and perfect for walking - I did a Google search for "ideal walking shoes for women" and this model came up as one of the top 10 in 2019 reviews. It was also recommended by the American Diabetes Assn. and tagged as especially good for overweight walkers. I'm not diabetic but I am overweight and have been challenged with foot/ankle pain when walking, so I really wanted to find a shoe that would let me walk as much as possible. Well, this shoe does not disappoint. I ordered my usual size and it fit perfectly right out of the box. The arch support is in exactly the right spot and the toe box provides plenty of room without being sloppy. And what a dream to walk in! They are lightweight and springy. They fully cushion the heel strike and the rocking motion of the sole sort of "propels" my foot forward into the next stride. So many shoes I've tried in the past made me feel like I'm walking uphill or in soft sand, making them seem really heavy and causing my feet and lower legs to tire quickly. But with these I feel like I can walk forever. The one thing I'll say is that my heel does slip in them very slightly, which kind of surprised me because I've historically preferred New Balance shoes over other brands because they usually provide a glove-like fit. But the slipping is very minor, not so much that I feel like I'm going to step out of them or causing me to have to compensate my stride in any way, so it really isn't bothersome and I suspect it will go away when I have the shoes fully broken in. I've had "walking" shoes that cost twice as much that are just sitting unused in my shoe rack because they're so unsuited to the task . These New Balance Women's WW411v2 Walking Shoes are perfect for walking and a really good buy. I'm so happy that I've finally found the shoe that will help me get the exercise I've been needing! Review: Comfortable - I normally wear a size 8 & 1/2 wide, but ordered up a half size. I wanted the extra room for walking down steep hills - I didnโt want my toes hitting the end of the shoe. I also wanted room for my plantar fasciitis inserts and bands. Iโm still limping around but I feel that these shoes are giving me the support I need to heal. They do seem a little loose in the heel, but hard to tell with the limping I am doing. Iโm not having any discomfort from the heel feeling loose. Overall I give these shoes a 5 star for comfort and value. They fit my wide feet perfectly.

A nurse's dream
I am a nurse who walks up to eleven miles a day, and when I'm wearing these I forget that I'm even wearing shoes. That's how comfortable they are. The only problem is that when you're breaking them in, it can dig into the tops of your toes a bit as they get used to folding. Once they're broken in, they're a dream. I have flat feet - they do well with orthotics but I've used them without from time to time and they're still as comfortable as anything. And the full leather shoe means you don't have to worry about accidentally dropping medicines, chemicals, or syringes and having them go right through the shoe. I definitely recommend these!

Spacious and wide
This brand was recommended to me heartily, and after I bought the shoe I realized why--the person who recommended it has freakishly wide feet. I felt like my toes were rattling around in there. They're fairly comfortable and seemed to cushion my feet just fine, but were nothing special. They lasted through about eight months of daily walks, and then the side split where the ball of the foot pivots, letting in moisture. If you have freakishly wide feet, this may be your shoe of choice. As for me, I found them nothing special and am glad to go back to the Reeboks I prefer. But they did the job and the break-in time was minimal.

So comfortable!
I researched online for reviews of the best walking shoe for an overweight diabetic, and these were number 1. I have had real issues with my left foot for a few years now, after breaking it, and these shoes have really helped! They were comfortable from the moment I put them on, and have worn them all day several times now, with no real issues. My foot gets tired, but nothing like the pain I have experienced in the past! I know I will buy them again! I don't like the New Balance "N" that is on all their shoes, but I am sure that will never be changed by my review, and it certainly doesn't make a difference on how they comfy they are. Definitely worth the money!

Perfect fit, great support and comfort
I started ordering this particular shoe about two years ago and now they are the ONLY shoes I order (black ones which look good enough with dress slacks to pass for church and other occasions), and white for everyday use. They are comfortable and wear well. I order a new pair every six months so I keep the older pair of white ones for everyday until they wear out and wear the newer pair out of the house, always having two pair on hand. The black ones I only need to replace every two years as I don't wear them near as often. I would highly recommend this walking shoe!

Narrow Heel Fits!
I have a stupid narrow heel and can never find shoes that fit. I'm usually stuck ordering shoes that are either too small so my heel can fit, but then my toes are pinched, or I buy a shoe that fits my toes, but my heels pop out when I walk. New Balance is the first company I've found that will offer narrow shoes! I'm seriously considering buying several pairs as "insurance" in case they ever stop selling them in the future. I've literally NEVER had a pair of shoes that fit both my heels and my toes without rubbing or pinching somewhere. I'm usually a hard-core sandals gal; but now I finally understand why people love sneakers so much! These are so damn comfortable I could live in them!

Disappointed!
Hi, I am so disappointed in these shoes. I had knee surgery recently and was looking for a very comfortable shoe to give me confidence with my new knee. I usually wear the Wide width, so I ordered the extra wide because I was worried about swelling. This is not even a wide shoe. :( I use to like New Balance because of the wide toe box. I think that the "D" width is not as wide as the women's W. These shoes are too tight but I wore them for 3 days, thinking that the leather would stretch. Well, it didn't. Now I have the start of a bunion on my foot. I think that had I stuck with my regular width, It would have been fine. New Balance should get rid of the "D width, it is misleading. (I believe that "D" width in a man's shoe is the average width) As far as the rest of shoe is concerned, it is not as clumpy and ugly as I thought. It is a good looking shoe and I was hoping to wear it under my long pants to work. I will try new balance again however, I will only purchase in a store, for fit.
