By Asia’s favorite siblings, Lee Chan-hyak and Lee Su-hyun who on this album were called ‘Akdung (Mischievous Child) Musicians’ but now call themselves ‘AKMU.‘Surprisingly great songwriting and singing. Musicians in the US rank and compare these exceptional musicians with a combined James Taylor and Carole King or Joni Mitchell. It’s a different time and place but I find them to be even better in music and their approach to life. Even before reading the translated Korean lyrics, you will listen to this music over and over again.Chan-hyuk had 45 unpublished songs in his pocket when ‘discovered’ on a Korean music talent show. He was 16 years old. Su-hyun was 12. They flew into the competition after spending five years isolated from urban Korean culture in the steppe expanses of Mongolia with their missionary parents. Both are great singers, especially together. Her voice is stunning enough to be described as beautiful as the Sirens in Greek Mythology.When discovering these and later AKMU songs you will find the words to be at times fun, elegant, realistic, deep, and hopeful...sometimes all at once. Maybe like the Korean word ‘han’ combining ‘sorrow and hope.’The music catches your ear. ‘200%,’ ‘Give Love,’ and ‘Little Star’ are fun and realistic ‘young love’ songs. I liked the earnest ‘joy of living’ expressed in their singing in ‘Artificial Grass.’‘Melted’ shifts to adolescent realism and may be the best song on the album. The ‘Melted’ music video produced in Vancouver, Canada expands the song concept and can be found online.Fun. Playful. Joyful: This album will lighten your mood.

Music has a heart and soul transcending language. While I cannot understand the lyrics on this CD (surprise, they are in Korean and my Korean is, well, limited to the word kimchi, which means something like fermented, pickled and indigestible), I can feel the spirit and the spirit is young, innocent and sweet. In a pop music universe like the one we have in America, where even a fairly sweet act like Ariana Grande seems to feel it necessary to parade like a trollop, straightforward romantic lyricism like Akdong Musician's does not seem to exist. Truly, it is our loss for music reflects our lives and too often the lives American music reflects are nasty, brutish and short.I find it enchanting to hear current American musical trends appropriated by Koreans and turned into something sweet and innocent. Akdong Musician steals riffs and raps from America, transforming them with acoustic instruments, and blending them with Korean sensibilities and music. The result is absolutely irresistible. The female singer has an absolutely wonderful voice. I do not know if this group is destined for K pop greatness or not but they are already a breath of fresh air from the East.

I have been a big fan of Akdong Musician since they performed in K-pop. YG recruited them after they won the first place at K-pop star. Then, YG allowed Akdong Musician to do THEIR music because YG entertainment is also a big production company that might influence their pure musical world. This entire album is written and produced by Akdong musician, specifically Chanhyuck. Each song has its own voice and massage. I have been enjoying this album since I bought it and I believe others will also love this album too.

I love this album! Brother and Sister duo Akdong Musician are a quirky change from typical bubblegum-corporate K pop music. Their fun raps, sweet harmonies, and joyful rhythms make my commute so much more enjoyable. My very favorite is "On the Subway" for its tight harmonies and lovely tune. "200 Percent" and "Give Love" are catchy and upbeat, while "Melted" is more melancholy (the music video, by the way, is quite thought-provoking).Bottom line: you won't regret this purchase!

Living in South Korea for the past 6 years has given me a pretty good feel for most K-pop. This doesn't fall into that category, Akdong are a lot of fun and play good, lighthearted music. Nothing sexy or stupid, just fun tunes that you can get behind. Definitely worth a listen!

This is a little different than some of the Korean pop music that's coming out. I absolutely love this album. It's quirky and catchy!

SO glad they won! Amazing album, can't stop listening. #3 (Melted) is probably my favorite. These two are super talented!

Not as poppy as most K-Pop, but that's not really a bad thing in this case. Look forward to hearing more from AKMU!

What a beautifully album! It came in absolutely perfect condition. The album itself is of course fantastic and the photobook is pretty neat. Also! The sticker included are adorable :)

Its not just a booklet, it's like a mini book with pop up bits in a fancy sleeve, it's all so damn fancy!
