A avid re-landscaper having owned over 9 homes with initially gnarly gardens, I happened upon the magic of The Root Slayer at home 8 and many years after giving up the weight lifting gym. Ladies, this tool will double your ability to get rid of old shrubs and put in new plantings in spite of existing root systems without bothering to wait on "yes dear, later." It's now my gift of choice for my gardener friends, who have all been pleased as punch, my Ipswich mate no exception.

Bought to remove a 25 year old privet hedge, works really well, glad I bought xl, it seems a normal length for a tool and to get the leverage on for removal of the stumps. I have put full body weight on 13st and not managed to break it.

Found this tool really helpful for removing Bamboo roots. Strong handle. Would recommend it.

My husband actually used this root slayer, to great effect. He says it’s great, really does the job. It’s got a good weight to it and makes for good leverage.

Purchased this expecting something that could slice through softened up roots/rhyzomes. It could not cut or penetrate enough. If you are buying this in order to dig up roots I would recommend getting a good mattock instead. Have been told I am unable to return a used product even though it has not done the job it was bought for. If you are on the fence about buying this then that would be enough to look elsewhere
