I was looking for a decent quality pallete for my tube watercolor paints when I came across this one. I have to say I really love this, it's much better than other pan palletes primarily because it really is airtight. It does have a thumb ring on the back to hold it while painting.It's made of a decent arylic that's fairly durable and had silicone seals which creates the perfect airtight seal. My paints don't dry out and I don't have to worry about them spilling if the tray gets flipped for some reason.I do wish there were more individual compartments but at only $9.99 buying more to accommodate me won't break the bank. It's significantly cheaper than most pan sets currently available. It does lack an actual pallete but it's not the end of the world in my opinion as it's more about quality storage for me. You could use the lid for mixing but I suggest you clean it before closing it so you don't contaminate paints you are storing.While I wouldn't use it for oils or acrylics (you could if you wanted to) because the areas are about the size of a half pan, they are absolutely perfect for tube watercolor as well as storage for mixing your own custom colors.If you are into watercolor painting you definitely need this in your tool box!

I absolutely love this air tight palette! I keep my professional artist grade gouache paints in this palette and have NO issues with leaking. The palette is super durable and feels like good quality, the clamps on the side are perfectly tight. I love how portable this palette is, but also big enough to have plenty of paint in the wells to work with. It also comes with a flat small black mixing spatula. Just remember to keep the palette upright and flat!

I bought this particular watercolor palette to try with Sennelier's tube watercolors. Due to the consistency of Sennelier's tubes with gum arabic and honey binder, they do not transport well once in a palette since as they do not dry out. This palette box works well to take these paints out of the studio for plein aire painting or other reasons without open paints becoming a gooey mess. So for me this is a 5 star solution for a problem I wanted to resolve. You will still need to bring a mixing palette . The inner top surface is a sealant substance to prevent the individual chambers from mixing.

I got this for my gouache paints and am very impressed. I've had it a few months now and my paints have not dried out at all! It is leak-proof, and I like that it's compact.This is a great palette for the money, I would purchase this again for my other watercolor paints. I carry this around with me in my bag, and have not had any leaking issues- you just have to make sure that you alight the top correctly to get that air-tight seal.

I use Holbein acrylic gouache and Windsor & Newton designers gouache (notorious for drying extremely fast) with watercolor medium and this airtight palette works amazing for keeping the paints wet. Had no issues with spillage though I don’t store it vertically for long. The closure clasps are sturdy and the added paint scraper is a nice addition. Definitely considering getting a second for more nuanced palettes or mixing on the go.(I’ve painted mine black and added a sticker to personalize it!)

I was so excited to order this palette because one of my favorite gouache artist always raves about them. She uses them with liquid gouache and I was looking forward to taking some gouache on my recent vacation. Unfortunately the colors leaked all over each other and all of my colors were ruined.I had hoped that the seal on the lid would keep the wells separated, but I guess it wasn’t meant to be. It’s possible that my gouache was too thin, but I just placed it in the wells from the tubes. They were Holbein gouache tubes, which really aren’t thin.I do, however, think this would be a great palette for a “stay-home” liquid gouache palette that never gets flipped upside down.

Im in love with this, its perfect for mixing up custom colors i need for a current project , I've had stay wet pallettes and use just about everything imaginable as a pallette but this is my favorite, the wells aren't too big so the paint won't dry outand with the silicone lid it also assists with that and it keeps the paint from mixing together, I love that this comes in multiple sizes, I currently have the 3x8 wells and wanna get some bigger ones too

Took a very long time to get here and when it finally did- it leaks. I tilted it after putting my paints in to test it and immediately the paints began mixing with eachother :( Good if you just keep it flat on your desk but be careful if you travel anywhere with it

Realmente mantiene bien la pintura yo en lo personal recomendaria que de preferencia lo tengas en un lugar estable si usas gouache porque a diferencia de la acuarela que es mas firme y puedes llevarla a todos lados, no es que no se pueda llevar a exteriores pero si con mucho mas cuidado, me arrepiento de no haber pedido otro en el momento porque tengo mas tubos de gouache, espero pronto adquirir otro ^^

Happy to receive the Palette box with slots. I use this to seal gouache paint as advice from a painting prof. Make sure to turn it the right way so each latch is aligned to each lock before clicking them shut.

This item seemed to be expensive but I really wanted to be able to save my paints. It works wonderfully. Seals air tight so that the paint stays moist. Should have ordered two.
