Culture II (Limited Edition White Colored 3x LP)

I am HIGHLY conflicted about Migos and this album is a perfect example. They completely independently reinvigorated a hip hop world growing rapidly stale and tired by dropping a massive, mind blowing, stripped down to bare essentials, deeply slick and sly F U to the entire scene and since that day they have been blatantly ripped off by almost everyone but Kanye. You cannot listen to hip hop radio today without immediately thinking "total migos rip off". The minimalist but bone rattling, blatantly erotic, stuttering beats and samples accompanied by a laid back, stoned to the bejeezus, yet icily dangerous delivery of lyrics was and is unprecedented and genius. I love it... BUT... the misogyny, the objectification, the disrespect, the glorification of absolutely grotesque, nauseating and repulsive attitudes toward women puts mecin deep, deep conflict. At one point I was listening to Migos, Cardi B, G-Eazy, Gucci Mane, etc on constant loop for months until I realized the lyrics were making me physically ill. The attitude is beyond neanderthal. And it is pervasive. They literally have no other topics to rap about. And yet, it is still genius. I would like to see them evolve, but in Hip Hop, it is generally 3 and out unless you are Jay-Z or Kanye. If Migos wants to persist, they gotta grow. They gotta slip by all the copy cats and come out of left field to drop another apocalypse. Otherwise they are just gonna end up stale and tired like so many others.

Got this album for my partner. He LOVES him some Migos. He's a vinyl head and plays at least one song from this at the bar every Wednesday night when he DJs. Some of our music snob friends have even admitted that Migos is growing on them now. My favorite comment that I've heard is from our friend Matt. Matt has bitched extensively about Migos and their contemporaries, but one week he came up and said "f*** you for making me like this." LOL

This CD was alright if you like the Migos then you will like the CD it wasn't up to my expectations good thing is it is a double disc CD. Overall it was OK

Disliked the overabundance of profanity. The beats however were on point. That ATL shake joint sound is what's up.

Once I received this item I played the entire album through, as I do with all of my vinyl records. Once I got to side F of of the three vinyl album, I noticed my record would not let me play said side. This is because the vinyl itself was warped. Disappointed because this is one of my favorite albums by the Migos. 2 stars for their lack of care and shipping of faulty products.

What a great Party CD. Migos flat got it going On. Party over Here. What you got Over There?? What a great group and the music is off the Chain. Party, Party.

I'm a fan of 80s & 90s Gangster rap and this is the first group I've heard in a while with the same talent.

Wasnt a migos fan but after hearing a few tracks I went and grabbed three of there CDs

Great music by Migos. From Higher We Go, to Walk It Talk It, it's got a decent number of very good tracks. The Migos music template is generally the same in my opinion and it's nice when the odd song takes on a different format here and there. But the main template works well and that's why they are so successful and why they are great to listen to.
