Book itself is a work of art. The paper is thick, the artwork is stunning, it's soft-touch hardback makes it feel luxurious and easier to work with.

The media could not be loaded.  I bought this to practice my watercolouring as the pictures have good size detail for this. I find a lot of the other books have really small details so it's harder to watercolour.I love this book, it's a really nice good quality book. The pictures are quirky and it's laid out in such a way that it's special.There are some pages that have very little or no detail to colour but there are enough pictures that you will colour to make it worth it.I have watercoloured one picture so far using pencils and there was no bleed.Only downside is because its a hardback it's harder to get to the middle of the book where the pages meet but I'm letting it off because it's gorgeous.Forgive my filming skills, I was the actor and the camera woman.

This is a totally amazing book!I've had "The Ink House" since Saturday afternoon and it's now evening on the following day and I've included photos of some of the pages I've already completed and I'm desperately trying to limit my colouring of this book🙈😊Yes the book is quite thin and a hard back -see last photo, but the pages are around A4 and have such exquisite detail and content!.Some parts are grey scale wich add to the detail and the spine can easily be manipulated to get into the margin, or colour close enough so you do not spoil the double page spreads.I've used mainly Prisma Colour Premier pencils (150 count) and a very cheap set of 24 Crawford &Black Watercolour pencils (purchased from The Works for £4)The pages are white card type paper and printed on both sides, the water colouring I have done left parts of the paper slightly raised on the other side but hardly noticable and I'd say would have flattened with the weight of the front cover if it hadn't been for the cut out hole on the front (where the lion is)I cant coment on marker pens has I do not use them, although the is a page at the back of the book that you could test markers on that will not spoil the rest of the book if the markers come through as the back of the last page is black.Over all I can't recommend this book more highly and I'd definitely buy more from Rory Dobner!

Ok I like to colour, confession over, male later life too much time on my hands .... The trouble is that the "Greyscale" works I like to colour are very thin on the ground, and this particular book is of a quality of art and paper that few other artists offer. it is amusing and intelligent naive and complex on the same page and something that to colour properly takes a lot of time and thought. If like me you do not enjoy bug eyed children, fairies and I use the word advisedly here"Girly" images this book will strike a chord with you.Terrific printing on good quality paper with a good selection of images what more can you ask in a hardcover volume, leaving you with the impression this is not for a scribbler and is aimed at the serious colourist seeking challenging and imaginative work, and as such, the price reflects this too.If I had one criticism it is a little scarce in detail on the pages leaving a lot of space on each page, but hey let your imagination run riot and fill those spaces with colour and Freescale designs of your own making.Overall though a brilliant book and if you like colouring choose this if only for the challenge.

A story book & colouring book all in one. I absolutely loved it & hope to find more like it in future. A real grown up colouring book with a hardback cover which could be used as a present for children or grandchildren. Proper animals & house interiors to let your imagination flow

I love the illustrations. Many are so beautiful, I don't think I want to color them! But I will :) Lots of anthropomorphized animals that remind me of old world graphics yet also are so detailed that they look realistic.A stylish hard cover with gold lettering makes this book a keeper. It doesn't lie flat well, but some of my paperbacks don't either, so...Would have offered the full 5 stars if the pages had had the coloring pages on one side and a blank page opposite, or at least the text on the opposite page. That would make it much easier to color on the right side and read the left. Or possibly spiral bind the hard covers to lie flat. Still very happy with this book.I would love to see more from this illustrator.

Images are beautiful. I really wanted to love this but had to return as you simply can’t open the book and pages properly due to the binding. So it’s useless as a colouring book
