Lord Mountbatten: The Last Viceroy Paperback – January 1, 1986

Very well written; excellent read and very timely. This book gives the recent history of the creation of Pakistan and India amid terrible violence. It makes me wonder if separating the Muslims from the Hindus and Sikhs was such a good idea. Although at the time it did seem to make sense.

It's the docudrama as a book.

Enjoyed the book and learned from it. However, in my view, Lady Mountbatten was the real hero. Lord Mountbatten no doubt performed as he was told, but I found very little that was admirable in the way the "occupation" of India was terminated. A great tragedy for the country and it's people.

I have been looking for this book for the longest time. I really am enjoying it.it's as interesting as I had heard.

Book in good shape. Had no idea of Lord Mountbatten's dealings with India & Pakistan. He & his wife seemed to be someone I would have loved to have met!
