Peugeot - Madras u'Select Manual Salt Mill - Adjustable Grinder - Stainless Steel & Beechwood, Chocolate

The grinders are a great deal and look beautiful on the counter. I saved $75 over the price at a kitchen store near my house. My only issue with them is that the salt grinder is already corroding and won't turn easily salt is a corrosive material so I am going to contact the manufacturer and see if there is a way to clean the grinder mechanism. The pepper works great I like that you can get a course grind down to fine.

Ordered a snazzy German made set and returned it right away when I did not get the pixie dust type pepper I wanted. Bought the set of this and it was AMAZING. I love my pixie dust type salt and pepper. It's great that it's beautiful to look at. I only wish I had something that matched or was at least attractive that could catch the remnants underneath. But that's my only complaint!

This salt mill has a magnetic top. Because the seller tosses it into a bubble wrap envelope without wrapping the mill in a bit of recycled paper, the top comes off during shipping spilling the salt inside the envelope. This also causes light scuffing to the mill and lid because the mill, the lid, and the coarse salt are loose and banging about inside the bag. There were also dirty smudges on the mill as if it had been handled or tested by someone with dirty hands. I would also like to see Amazon reduce its reliance on plastic and hope the seller will request recyclable paper padded shipping envelopes instead of bubble wrap bags which do not get recycled and become trash.

After a few days it stopped grinding the salt and since have not been able to use it.Love the design. Is there a resolution?

Very disappointed. Item arrived with a scratch in the wood!

I can't believe this is a mill that worth $64... it's just like the other guy said,garbages in a box!

Peugeot designed an attractive pricey contemporary styled peppermill. Too bad it stopped working after one month. When the top is turned, nothing comes out. It just rotates without any resistance. Regardless of the settings, the mill will not grind. For such a simple mechanism to fail is very disappointing. Pugeot brags about how well built it is but their claims are worthless since the product promptly fails. Glad I never purchased a Peugeot car.

A really lovely item and well-designed. Beautiful, smooth olive wood, and a nice turning action on the grind setter. Some have commented that the grind setter ring moves too easily when you twist the base: there is an easy fix - hold the base and twist the wood - problem solved!Other 'problems' mentioned in other reviews: yes they do turn up with a small amount of pepper and or salt in them. This doesn't mean they've been used - this is how they test them in the factory.And also some bemoan the fact they're not nicely packaged - mine were packed enough to be safe in transit but no extra. I personally appreciate that. Are you going to keep them in the packaging or use them and throw the packaging straight onto landfill?I've only not given 5 stars because I received them yesterday so no idea how they'll fare over time. All in all, a lovely product and much cheaper here than from Peugeot direct.

Die erste Mühle hatte Macken und das Mahlwerk hatte zu viel Luft und der Übergang vom Mahlwerk zum Holzteil war ungenau und schief. Die feinste Mahlstufe war nur mit großem Kraftaufwand einstellbar. Bei 90€ erwartet man eine neue Mühle, die gut bis perfekt verarbeitet ist. Das Holz ist sehr schön, fühlt sich gut an und vom Design her gefällt mir die Mühle sehr. Der Ersatz von Amazon kam prompt, aber auch hier ein Problem mit dem Mahlwerk. Die Körner auf der feinsten Stufe sind so grob, dass sie fast im Ganzen rauskommen. Steigert man den Mahlgrad von Stufe 1 auf 6 wird es kaum merklich gröber, insgesamt ist das Mahlwerk so aber unbrauchbar. Also ging auch diese Mühle zurück. Und was soll ich sagen, ich bleibe mit Ernüchterung zurück und habe für 90€ leider zwei Mal keine neue Mühle zugesendet bekommen, eine der beiden Mühlen hatte noch nicht mal das Etikett von Peugeot angehängt, ganz zu Schweigen von der lächerlichen Plastiktüten Verpackung. Das geht auch anders. Die Pfeffermühle Madras in schwarz war dagegen deutlich besser verpackt. Ich werde mein Glück nun direkt bei Peugeot versuchen, sodass beide Mühlen zurückgehen, auf das sie beim nächsten Käufer landen, der sich damit rumärgert.

Wunderschönes Design und Haptik bei sehr guter Verarbeitung. Der Deckel wird magnetisch gehalten. Die Einstellungen bez. des Mahlgrades sind zwar präzise, aber sie verstellen sich beim Mahlen zu schnell, da die Rastung zu schwach ist. Trotzdem ist die Mahlgradeinstellung eine deutliche Verbesserung zu den Standard-Peugeot-Mühlen. Die Füllmenge ist vergleichsweise gering, da leider nur ein schmaler Zylinder in das Olivenholz gedreht wurde - aber das Nachfüllen geht wegen der hier nicht vorhandenen Mittelstange und dem Magnetdeckel schnell und unkompliziert. Kenne aktuell keine schönere Mühle bei bekannt guter Mahlfunktion.
