I believe a tank could run over this fob and my meds would be fine. Body, cap and ring are thick stainless steel. The gasket seals well. The fob is finely machined with a satin sheen. The body tapers below the cap threads, visually slimming it. The thick triangular ring isn't coming off without bolt cutters. The fob holds nine ibuprofen tablets comfortably, with 2mm clearance (total, both sides) between the tablets and the body. I use mine to hold--bottom to top--two small tablets, five ibuprofen tablets, and one 10mg melatonin capsule. The deeply tapered inside of the cap accommodates the extra length of the capsule, which actually sticks up above the body of the fob. This fob is worth the premium over an equivalent aluminum fob because (a) stainless steel won't react chemically with medications as aluminum often will, and (b) it's far tougher.

I bought my first “GUS Original Pill Fob, Made in USA, Stainless Steel Keychain Pill” nearly eight years ago and I’ve carried it around on my keychain in my pocket every day since. And despite it getting constantly bashed and jiggled around with my keys and sundry other things in my pocket every day, and even after traveling around the world and going through airport security multiple times, and accidentally going through the washing machine and dryer with pants a few times, and accidentally getting soaked in swimming pools, oceans, and rainstorm a few times… This mighty gadget still looks and works like it’s brand-new. Originally I’d debated spending this much money, relatively speaking, on such a small and seemingly simple item that was only big enough to hold a few pills or other tiny but essential items — especially when there were a lot of other, far cheaper options available that looked nearly identical… The alternatives where usually made out of aluminum at best, plastic at worst, and typically imported from China rather than these purportedly USA-made, medical-grade steel bad-boys from the GUS brand — but the cheaper versions, on the surface, didn’t seem much different I terms of functionality, and could often be found in multipacks where you could get a half dozen of them for nearly half the price of a single one of these pricy models… So the cheap version was tempting, and for some scenarios maybe the cheap alternatives would be satisfactory… But I’m glad I got a real GUS Original Pill Fob because it’s really a minimalist everyday carry work of art — the way it’s stood up to nearly a decade of usage is awesome. One day my kids will probably inherit this thing haha. But seriously, I’m impressed by the craftsmanship and longevity of this product, it’s a worthwhile investment.

Bought the GUS pill fob (original size) to replace a cheap aluminum pill fob that gave out (threading stripped) within a couple of months. This is much slimmer than what I had before, but still allows me to fit 3 capsules that are each approximately 19mm long. This fits on my key ring without being too bulky in my pocket. Overall the quality of the materials and machining/build are much better than what I had before. This feels very solid and it appears to be built to last a long time (and is backed by a lifetime guarantee). This costs three times the price of the cheaper one I had before, but well worth it based on the quality. One other note to watch out for with the cheaper pill fobs. The one I had before this one would get a light 'dust' coating on pills that were kept inside. Maybe it was the aluminum dust from the stripped threads or maybe something else. I washed and dried out the old one several times but still kept coming back - obviously not something you want to ingest with your medication. The GUS pill fob does not have this issue. Overall, more expensive than many others but in this case you really get a much better quality product.

This thing is very well made. Not at all like the cheap aluminum ones with a pressed in key ring swivel attachment on the top. Those have been known to separate at the swivel and get lost or strip their soft threads. I doubt I will ever wear this thing out. The trade off is its a little heavy but wow is it solid. I was able to fit 4 round aleve tablets and a couple small capsules for the days I forget to take one before running out the door in the mornings. I will probably buy the smaller one as well if I decide I need to keep just 2 or 3 pills handy. When it arrived I peered into it and decided I wanted to make sure it was very clean before putting my meds in. I used a cotton swab and a little bit of dish soap to scrub it out. Rinsed with hot water. After it dried some, I used another swap with a little bit of 99% isopropyl alcohol to further sanitize it and dissipate any remaining moisture. I left it open overnight and put my pills in it the next morning.

Have had the GUS original for more than a year now. I can keep 2 days of blood pressure medication in it, on my keychain. It is Very sturdy, well made, and pills have kept well in them with no moisture or breakdown. It holds 2 clonodine, 2 metoprolol, 2 norvasc and one diovan (all of these are small pills, smaller than an aspirin, except for the diovan which is about the size of a large multivitamin). I'll be purchasing the larger GUS hoping it will fit an extra diovan to give me 2 full days worth of meds. If you need to have extra medication handy, you can't go wrong with the GUS products, IMO.

My mother got me one of these around 15 years ago so that I could keep my migraine medication with me. I still have it and it still looks and works like new, keeping my medicine safe, dry, and handy. I subsequently purchased some cheaper aluminum pill fobs for friends, but they didn't hold up and they looked like crap after just a few months. So when my son commented on my pill fob recently, I knew it was time to pay it forward and get him a proper container that would last the test of time. It is definitely more expensive than the aluminum ones, but in this case you most definitely get what you pay for. Highly recommended.

Very solid, will be life long keychain but oring wears put about every 5-7 years, replacements are 60cents at ace hardware

Dichtung / O-Ring ab Werk defekt, deshalb nicht wasserdicht! Außen schön poliert, auf der Innenseite ist aber die Oberfläche so rauh, dass z.B. ein eingesteckter Geldschein einfach hängen bleibt. Für den aufgerufenen Preis absolut nicht zu empfehlen.
