Q: How long does the food last in the fridge once it is open?

I have 2 desert box turtles during the spring, summer and fall a can only last about 4 days because they are more active but during the winter they are less liable to come out and eat so I store the unused portion in a glass container then food saver the container and it stays good over a week. I'm not sure how long its supposed to last but after a week and a half I throw whatever is left out .. just in case.
