Great combo pack for the weekend DIY person
This combo kit is a GREAT pick up if you are a weekend DIY kind of person. Every piece in this kit performs fantastic. The drill/driver has gotten the most use so far, as I do a lot of hanging, joining, and driving projects. The circular saw comes in at second most-used. It handles 2x4s, 2x6s, and plywood perfectly. It's fast, relatively quiet, and delivers when I need it to. The reciprocating saw has only been used a couple of times so far, but it has handled what I tossed at it without problem. The batteries charge fast, and seem to have plenty of juice for my projects. If I have to share a battery between 2 tools because the other battery is charging, I don't have to do so for very long because the battery on the charger is ready within an hour. The bag that this kit comes with is fairly sturdy, and you can put a couple of extra cases in it for your drill/driver bits, and your reciprocating saw blades. You may have to finagle the tools a bit to get it to close, but once you figure out a good layout, you're good to go.The only thing that I would like to see get added to this combo kit is the rip fence for the circular saw. I was a little disappointed that it did not come with this kit, but not disappointed enough to knock a star off the rating.

Nice set, needed to replace my old 18 volt DeWalt drill that was fifteen years old and this set was the thing to do it. It was really a great price when you consider the two batteries come with it. There is no doubt the tools are solid, most of the good brands deliver good product here. I did try the impact drill over the weekend with a deck staircase of 13 stairs and it drilled like a champ putting 6 4" screws through 26 2x6's on one battery and was still going strong on the last one. I had never used the impact drill much but my brother is in construction and swears by it, it delivered a good punch for sure. It is also worth noting the good price Amazon has on the other DeWalt cordless tools that I will likely add to the set given I have the two batteries. Cordless is here to stay and it is so much easier for the builder or the maintenance/care taker of any significant property and if you are just starting out and getting your first tools don't even bother with corded tools go with 18 volt, good name brand such as DeWalt, Mikita, or Milwaukee and your making a great investment that you'll be happy with for the next twenty years or so unless you run the heck out of them.

I'm a fan
Having finally escaped apartment living, I purchased this set as a starter kit several months ago and have been very happy with it. I’m by no means using these for professional use or extended periods, but for small weekend projects (shelves, picnic table, etc.) they are fantastic. The battery life is excellent and always lasts through my endeavor. I’ve always found DeWALT power tools to be durable, powerful, comfortable and easy to use. These are no exception. The only thing that would make the set more complete for my projects would have been the inclusion of a router and/or jigsaw. I would have happily paid a little more to have one or both of those instead of the flashlight. It works nicely, but is ultimately just another flashlight that I wouldn’t have missed at all. Fortunately with a base set like this, one can keep adding more tools and use the same batteries and charger.I definitely recommend this a great option to start a collection, or for those who just need a few basic tools.

BAD-eries
The tools themselves work great, and overall, good value. However, 5 years on, and both batteries are totally dead. Come on, Dewalt: you can make better batteries than that!So now I have all these tools, no batteries, and am the position of buying 2 more mediocre batteries, or spending a bit more for the 18-to-20V adaptor kit with extra batteries.FYI: I have a Milwaukee 12V drill that I purchased in 1999 (and sold in 2017) that had 2 batteries that worked as well 18 years later as they did when I bought them. Way to go, Milwaukee Tools.

Great starting kit of tools every man should have!
I purchased these on Cyber Monday and got a ridiculous deal on them. My dad has been using Dewalt tools for years and they have lasted a long time. I bought this set anticipating living on my own and wanting to be able to use them for house projects and repairs. So far, I have used every piece for a local library children's exhibit and all have performed perfectly. The response and strength of the drills are great and the features with each piece are abundant. The small light diodes on the drills help when working in dark areas, the flashlight is adjustable and works with many angles, and the saw is great for making quick cuts on the fly. Just make sure to keep a battery ready on the charger and you will do great things with this set. I love it!You will need to buy a blade for the saw and an extra bit for the drills. There was only one dual-bit in my kit.

Batteries Die Very Quickly
I was on board with everyone else and thinking this is a great deal. Like most, I utilize the drill more often than anything else. The issue lies with the batteries. After very limited use, I've had one of the batteries completely die and the second one needs to be charged prior to every use. If I charge up the battery and use it for a couple screws and let it sit for a couple hours, the battery will be completely dead and need a recharge. I've tried removing the battery between uses, but that didn't help. The batteries supplied in this package a few garbage. I'll be looking for replacements and I will discontinue any Dewalt purchases unless these batteries are replaced.

So far i have built a deck and done a few around the house projects and these are paying them selves off. I originally purchased cheaper brand tools such as Ryobi, Mastercraft and Black and Decker and ive broken most of them within 5 years. Im fully converted now to dewalt.batteries included with this package are 18v 1.4ah (i think dont quote me) and it is possible to out-work 2 fully charged batteries even if you are careful to always have a battery on the charger. i also purchased a hammer drill kit with 2 more batteries and a charger and find it impossible to out work the 4 batteries and 2 chargers. i didnt count #screws/charge but the drill goes for about an hour of decent speed of work. the circular saw cut about 15feet of 2x6 decking continuous on a fresh charge then started to slow too much. the circular saw is slower than a plug in but able to cut 2inches deep without issue, 4x4's require multiple cuts

Awesome
I bought this setup to use out at my cabin for projects, without the hassles of getting/using a generator. They have all performed very well. The other reason I got this is I already have an older Dewalt 18v drill with two batteries, so now I have four altogether, and they work on any of my tools. The only downside I would say is that the batteries that come with this set are physically smaller, and of less capacity then my old drill batteries, but they still work fine. Nice having two chargers as well. The carry tote, and flashlight are an added bonus as well. Would definately recommend.
