Impossible to assemble, instructions pitiful. Have emailed manufacturer and have had no response. Obviously other purchasers had trouble because instructions have handwritten additional notes in ink - which by the way do not help at all. Disgusting. Do not recommend this. Now, how do I get a refund?

Unfortunately for the price of this magnifier I expected a much better item. While the frame and structure are very well made, the screen is really terrible. Concentric circles are part of the screen and I guess because I'm not a scientist I don't know what they are there for but it sure made things difficult to see. I have had cataract surgery and need magnification to be able to do small detail work and really hoped this magnifier would help me, but it was totally unworth the price I paid for it.

I like the size of the magnifier but it's made of plastic and very soft. It had a scratch on it when it arrived and I've since put a small scratch in it with my finger nail trying to remove a piece of lint. You have to be very careful moving the arm. If you get it too low, the springs pop off.I needed a hands free magnifier and quick deliever for a small cross stitch pattern than I'm working on that has a deadline, which is why I ordered this particular item. I'd really like to something similar with a more substantial lens and a higher magnification for such small handwork.

After figuring out how to turn on the light, I have to say we are quite pleased with this product, and I have upgraded my review from a two star to a four star. The seller responded to my question on the light immediately, which was appreciated. The base is heavy and the arm is strong. I like the big magnifier, but I have to hold the newspaper/book just right in order to keep from having a blurred image. Overall, it is a very well-made product.

I gave this to my mother-in-law. She likes it., It was easy to put together. The light is a bit of a joke but other than that it is fine.

No reviews on Amazon.....should not have purchased. In description, this supposedly lights up.....ya right. It's a cheap clip on that DOESN'T WORK. Purchased for my 85 year old father who is going blind. He was able to see well enough to tell me to return it. Junk.

This Father's Day gift for Dad seemed like a great idea--and it is--but it needs work. Putting it together was easy according to the directions, but they did not say the quality of the parts made it a touchy procedure--dirt and filings in the stem base, slightly off parts that made it difficult to fit together, and fear we'd break the plastic by forcing it, no instructions on how to insert the light and turn it on,fussy positioning of the screen to avoid blurring--all together too many problems to make this worth the money. We are returning it ASAP.
