I love this paper for adding with color as collage.

It's thin but holds ink very well. Quality is great from my point of view as a calligraphy amateur for thirty years. Nice experience of writing on it while smelling the fabric of the paper. That's the way the traditional Chinese calligraphy works! Really enjoy this product. Dock one star due to the high price and the vague description of "Xuan Paper Maobian". Seller might need to make it clear, since Xuan paper and Maobian paper are absolutely different. You don't want to confuse or misguide people who are not familiar with this.

I use this paper for calligraphy practice. Sizes of the characters I tried are from 3/4 inch to 4 inch. I have been practicing calligraphy for more than 20 years. In my opinion, this paper has the top quality among the same type products. Here is my feedback: 1) The thickness of this paper is on the thin side but it is very strong and durable. It is not like the other products with the same thickness I have used which are easy to be broken accidentally. 2) The body of the paper is very flat. 3) The surface is relatively smooth. The friction and resistance is enough for me to feel the feedback of brush movement. This is typical for Mao Bian paper. 4) The ink absorption is also pretty good. Tolerance range for ink concentration is good enough for me in most cases. Conclusion: it is suitable for chinese calligraphy practicing in all styles with different character size and brush moving speed. By the way, I received 52 sheets. :-)

The paper I received is like tissue paper. It has an interesting antique-cream color and I can think of a number of uses for it. I was planning to practice traditional Chinese watercolor painting, but it's not best suited for that. It's a little too thin.

This is my most favorite paper for sumi painting, both ink and watercolor. It is extremely forgiving in case you mess up a stroke, but also holds definition in terms of gradation even with very wet strokes. Due to the paper texture, the brush can easily fly off the page with drier strokes creating dramatic breaks in the color. The paper does not crumple up after drying and is very easy to mount. I have included pictures of an unmounted sheet, and you can see its texture clearly. I have also included a mounted piece and although I am no expert, it was pretty easy for me to mount it for a scroll I was working on. I'll definitely buy more.

The paper comes in poor quality and didn’t bother count whether they did full count of 100 pieces in the bundle. The most bothersome issue is the surface, which comes with large areas of wrinkles, making writing difficult with broken streaks

From the first look at this paper, I thought it would be waste of the many, but after I wrote on it, the paper absurd water well and not easy penetrated also save the ink. I will buy it again

I ordered 100 sheets. The package listed 50 sheets, I had counted 3 times, only 47 sheets per package. The last time counting it was with robber glove. The material is rough surface and ink absorbing is not great. It’s okay for practice calligraphy but not for Chinese brush painting practice. I did not return it because I’m using it for practice only. I’m not happy with missing sheets, it’s not a honest business practice. I’ll not buy this again.
