Great Stovetop Smoker!
I love this smoker! I have three full-size outdoor, electric, and propane smokers. This little baby is fun and works for small quantities of food. My first try was to smoke a brined chicken. It came out deliciously smoked. The learning curve is to check for doneness at the lower end of the temperature guide. This may extend cooking times due to opening the smoker but this is direct heat like an oven and food can overcook. I liked this unit so much that I bought the extender for multilevel cooking, much like a steamer. Please read all the reviews for this smoker. I found that using a wire grill plate rather than the plate that came with this method will keep food from sticking. The plate that came with the smoker is perfect for food that is lower in fat. I also covered the drip plate with foil. This works for cleanup. You also have to keep your eye on the temperature gauge to make sure that the temperature is in a safe range for perfect cooking. This was a smart buy. I can't wait to experiment with other foods.

Bought this for myself as a birthday gift. I live in the city, and while I donโt have a yard or space for a full sized smoker, I do have access to an outdoor gas grill. So, my review is for outdoor use only. I will not be using it indoors. Iโve smoked whole chickens on 2 separate occasions. Both were spatchcocked and smoked for about an hour. Result was distinct smokey flavor in the meat and super juicy and moist. For the reviewers who have stated itโs hard to clean or it rusted after they left it out on the counter for a few days, your kitchens must be super special. I mean. Did you even try to wash it? ๐ It wonโt be pristine. The smoke will definitely stain the underside of the drip pan, so if youโre super precious about outdoor cooking tools, itโs not going to stay perfect. Iโve had no problem cleaning it right up. I use heavy duty aluminum foil to line the drip pan, and I let the smoker tray soak a bit while Iโm eating. Thenโฆyou actually need to make sure youโve dried everything off. If you treat something like garbage, itโs going to end up looking like garbage. This is a great piece of equipment and Iโll definitely invest in the extender ring to increase capacity. A GREAT SMOKER FOR APARTMENT DEWLLERS!
I recently bought the Camerons stovetop smoker from Amazon, which worked well but was just too small for my needs. So I upgraded to this Nordic Ware smoker after seeing it on Steven Raichlen's website. This baby does not disappoint! The dome lid is big enough to let you smoke a whole chicken or a med. sized ham. The vent in the lid lets you control how much smoke leaks out, which keeps the my smoke alarm from going off. I didn't even need to turn on the overhead exhaust fan, just opening my kitchen window a bit was all it took. The Nordic Ware comes with an small removable pan you can to add water too for wet smoking. Best of all, it has a removable thermometer that slids into the lid which lets you know the temp. inside the smoker (a VITAL feature). My only complaint is that the perforated tray that you actually put your meat on needs to have handles on either side that you can pick it up. Anytime I need to remove the meat tray, I have to get my big BBQ fork & stick it into one of the holes in the tray in order to get it out of the unit. That & the fact this bad boy stains a lot from Day 1 were the only drawbacks. I was careful to line the bottom of the unit with a double layer of tin foil before adding the smoking chips, for easy clean-up. But it still ended up with stains that I couldn't scrub out. Those are the only reasons why I gave it a 4 rather than a 5. In terms of functionality & value for the money, this is a terrific product.

Really like this smoker
Considering what the objective is, this kettle smoker does a fine job. No problem with overwhelming smoke in the kitchen (if you have fan on at 'boost', as recommended) and flavor is mild but on point. Cleanup is reasonably easy; put foil between wood & drip pan (if the scorched surface bothers you)& over the drip pan (recommended in instructions. Open to any feedback!

Great Dutch Oven Pot, even as a decorative item in the kitchen
Great for soup. The smoker ability, I am still working on, but I think it's me more than the kettle. Just have to watch the smoker temp and undercook when smoking meat to get the best result. Overall, great purchase.

Easy Smoked Meats With Kettle Smoker
All I can say is WOW!! What great results! I wanted a smoker but wasnโt willing to drop $5K for the one I want(ed) right now. Stumbled across this kettle smoker, and was curious, though still highly skeptical. I decided to buy on after watching Adriane on Philly Kitchen make some recipes. Itโs one of those things that you think is being hyped up, but I followed her methods for ribs (I made baby backs instead or spare ribs) and I am surprised. The ribs have been tender, juicy and perfectly flavored. They have a great pull from the bone. I did put under the broiler for a couple of minutes to get a crust on them, but wow! This is definitely a home run! Iโve only smoked ribs now a couple of times but both times it yielded perfect and consistent results. Only one caution, you really do need a strong outside venting hood else your house will smell like smoker odor for a couple of weeks, even with windows opened. Iโm doing my next cook on the deck. Very worthwhile investment!

Not sure what was wrong but.....
First of all, I'm not a newbe at using a NordicWare kettle smoker. This was my third one. I wore the other two out. (Mostly smoking vegetables, fruits and making veggie pizzas). Well, the thermometer was broken on arrival, but that could be replaced. The main thing was that the smoker didn't produce any smoke! After five minutes on a "very low" gas burner, I still couldn't see any smoke coming out of the slightly opened vent holes in the lid. I opened the lid to a horrible burned smell. The smoking chips had completely burned up, they were totally black. I cleaned them up and tried some of mine that had worked just fine in my previous smoker. The burner was on very low, and again, same result. Are they using a different material in production? Was this one just a fluke? Who knows. Sadly, I had to send it back.

Love it! Bought one for my brother I love it so much!
Used it inside and with my oven vent on low and there was no smoke in the house. Great smoked flavor. Spatchcoked a chicken and it was moist and very flavorful. Put it under the broiler to crisp up the skin.

Great product for a reasonable price
Sturdy material. Arrived very quickly. Easy to use. Holds consistent temperature whether used on an induction hob or outdoor grill. Great results so far!

Great for Apartment
Smoke is infused into the meat. I live in apartment and the smoke don't go everywhere. The only drawback is that you will not get crisp. Put the meat on microwave after and it's perfect.
