A whole lot of yarn
It is an off white color and the cotton is easy to work with.Quality is amazing and works well for wash clothes. It does not split when yarning or frogging.

Cotton cone yarn, great value, great yarn!
Purchasing this cotton yarn on a cone is a great way to save money. I have purchased many of these cones from this brand, always give me high-quality yarn. This cotton yarn is great for crocheting wash clause, towels, hot pads, items you use in the bathroom and kitchen that need to be washed often. My next project is to crochet a bathmat that I can occasionally wash. I will probably need at least 2 of these cones, may be a third. This beautiful yarn is very easy to crochet with, and if you make errors in your stitches, it does pull out nicely. I don't have trouble with it splitting. It is a nice 4-ply thickness.

Interesting Yarn
This is the first time I've used 100% cotton yarn, so I'm not sure if the characteristics of the yarn is specific to this brand or not. The yarn has 0 elasticity at all. It doesn't stretch, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, so there was a slight curve until I got used to working with it.First thing I noticed, and this is completely accidental, is that when I worked the yarn up it created a neat diamond pattern. Another thing is that the yarn tends to unravel as I work with it. I'm constantly catching individual threads of the yarn instead of the entire thing. No matter the tension I use, it will unravel and I keep having to redo stitches.I'm using the moss stitch so it drapes well and it's holding it's shape overall.

Remember that this is "craft" cotton yarn
I've used this yarn for various projects for decades. It used to be much softer - it was my go-to for baby blankets. This yarn, as compared to the very same colors (Go Badgers!) of yarn I purchased five years ago for a dorm afghan for my son , is much stiffer and not in the least soft. I'll use it for the blanket I am currently knitting, but I'll find another brand for similar projects in the future. This is definitely not suited for baby blankets and such.On the positive side, I have always liked this yarn because the color stays true across different skeins and cones - there are no "dye lot issues." And there is a tremendous variety of colors available. Don't use with wood needles (too much friction with this "rough" yarn)! Dark colors do bleed, so be careful when using contrasting colors. It's still a great, strictly CRAFT yarn, for items like dish rags, but don't expect it to be appropriate for a blanket, garment, or, especially, for baby clothes.I wish it were soft, as it used to be.
