The nutmeg grinder arrived packaged securely in an appropriately sized box. It looks and functions exactly as described. The steel is nicely finished and feels good in the hand. My hands get stiff sometimes and the size was good enough for me to twist easily - just like a good pepper mill, but lighter. I love it and am so happy to not drop my nutmeg in my coffee again. I feel like I leveled Up in Adulting: Small Pleasures.

This grinder is the well-made piece of craftsmanship & European construction that you hope it will be when you view the item before purchase. It’s solid, smooth & substantial.Nevertheless, I wish the blade took a bigger bite out of the nutmeg nut while grinding. It produces a fairly small / fine result. If you want to use it during cooking, when you need, say, 1/2 or 1 tsp for a recipe, you’re going to spend a looong time grinding. I typically use nutmeg when cooking a potato gratin, and want a fair bit of nutmeg quickly, while I’m assembling the layers. I bought this grinder to replace the old fashioned tin scraper thing I’ve used for a decade, and have sadly found myself grabbing that old scraper more than I hoped for after purchasing this grinder. I wanted to get rid of the finger skin scrapes from the old tin gizmo; while I like this grinder, it hasn’t replaced the scraper for cooking. Bummer.

I purchase this nutmeg grinder for baking and savory recipes. The size is perfect and takes little storage space. It grinds the nutmeg fine. Love this grinder!

I am returning this. It looks nice, and like it would be a good quality product, but it just doesn't work well at all. Very disappointing. It takes forever to get enough nutmeg for just one cup of eggnog. My old cheap one works much better.

Efficient and easy to use as well as designed to look beautiful on the table. Even for someone with arthritis, very sharp blades inside make turning the grater pain-free. The smell of freshly grated nutmeg is delectable. This little grater is worth every penny.

Originally gave this 5 stars -Have always used a rotary hande nutmeg grinder that left half a nut behind - at twice the cost. This is a gem, that uses the entire nut down to a tiny sliver that can be cut into slices and used that way. However, dropped it recently and the plastic part sheared off from the bottom, making it totally useless. he plastic is machined into the metal and cannot be repaired. Won't buy this design again.
