Total length is 10 inches and the blades are about 4.25 inches. Very sharp and sail through fabric well.

Can left handlers use them?

Actually these are symmetrical so you can use them if left handed, which i am and do use them

What advantages does this fabric scissors have over, say, a train, which I can also afford?

They are sharp a good weight for tailoring and dressmaking and of high quality . If you can afford a train why do you need tailoring scissors ?
