Great idea for rehashing the qwerty phone. Wanted to use this as a dumb phone with more fictional texting for a kid. The OS made texting and tracking multiple conversations difficult to manage. After two weeks it would no longer turn on and froze on a "charging" screen when plugged in. Itbecame completely non functional and would not respond to prompts or hard reset. Bummer.

Awesome digital detox/dumb phone. Works on Mint Mobile. Pros: -Cute -4g with clear audio. -The keyboard feels great for texting. I think this may be the only qwerty dumphone on the market right now. I saw a review mention the keys falling off, but mine feel sturdy. -has the basic apps you'd expect, like a calculator, calendar, weather, radio, etc. -The AI messaging app is actually handy for questions you'd typically google on a smart phone. I've used it to check bus schedule, local store hours, etc, and it's always returned accurate info. No AI hallucinations. It is based on DeepSeek, which I know some people find questionable. -It does have a basic internet browser that is very unhandy with the size/no touchscreen, but could work in a pinch. -Camera takes decently clear snapshots. Obviously you shouldn't expect high quality photos, but they're fine for messaging if you're trying to show someone something. -The 32GB extendable storage is great for music, since there no spotify/streaming option on this phone. The music player is basic, it does have playlists and can shuffle, but that's it. There's no sorting by artist or album unless you manually add them to a playlist. Neutral (for me): -It does have tiktok/instagram reels, which don't interest me personally. For the digital detox people: they don't customize to you (it's just what's popular, I think), and you can't interact with them. That and the screen size makes it much less appealing/addicting. For everyone else: I guess its a nice option to pass the time. Cons: -The texting app is the old inbox style, so no threads where you can see your entire conversation with someone. I personally prefer it, it's easier to stay on top of messages, but it may be a deal breaker for some. -Hinge feels slightly delicate- I don't see it becoming wobbly with normal use, but a bad drop unfolded may do some damage. It's definitely sturdier folded. -It has a pleather "soft touch" exterior that may stain over time. I could definitely see it picking up dye in your pocket from dark wash denim that likes to bleed. -Somewhat poor/odd translation on menus and such. Ex: "The phone has been plugged out" when you unplug the charger. Nothing indecipherable, but it can be confusing at first, because menu options/apps are not called what you'd expect. It just takes a little exploration to figure everything out. -You can only send videos over text if you record them at the lowest quality setting, and they're about 10s long, otherwise the file is too large. There's an option for bluetooth, but I haven't tried it. Overall: If you get this phone with reasonable expectations of a basic phone, you'll be satisfied.

Unnecto doesn't support phone and states it's not 4G. I have had the phone since May 2nd and now if I keep it closed for a few minutes it drops service and needs to be rebooted to get it back. If left open no issues happen. Connected Unnecto to be told it's not 4G and they won't help because it was bought on amazon.

If you are looking for a cheap, cute phone with a full keyboard, just know you are only getting that. This phone doesn't work for most things—even after inserting a SIM card for internet capabilities. It won't function beyond basic tasks. I really wish it had wifi just so I could even use Google. I have had to get a replacement for my first one, as it was broken and wouldn't turn on. The second is great, and I use is as an offline PDA and for cosplay, but if you ACTUALLY want a working device, I'd look else where. The only thing this has is that its cute and its small. As an offline PDA it gets a lot of use, but I can't imagine trying to use this thing 24/7 as my main phone and I'm not talking about Smartphone VS "Dumb" phone. If I could reliably use this without it randomly dying, deleting message drafts, and messing with the audio on my recordings, I wouldn't have a problem. My advice for using this as an offline PDA: - Use messages to take notes (no note app) & make fake phone contacts with the title/category of your note (I have notes, checklist, story blurb, etc.) - Re-bind the shortcut keys to be Audio Recorder (audio notes are easier than text), RadioFM, messages w/ contact categories, & calculator - The camera isn't great, but can be used for remembering post-it notes, etc. IF any of the bugs mentioned above are fixed, I will re-evaluate and change my opinion if my concerns are addressed—I have no malice towards this company, and would love to see them flourish! But my heart lies with fellow consumers. Prove me wrong with proper fixes and I'll edit my review to reflect positive change. :)

I bought this phone for a much-needed digital detox, and it’s been incredibly refreshing. I wanted to get away from constant ads and privacy concerns, and this simple device is exactly what I needed. As someone who grew up in the 2000s and early 2010s, this phone makes me so happy. The full QWERTY keyboard is a total game-changer; there is nothing like the feel of real, crisp buttons again. The design is also gorgeous. It has a beautiful soft pink color and a faux leather texture on the back that makes it feel surprisingly fancy and high-end. It feels like a stylish accessory rather than just a piece of tech. I LOVE this so much! Phone calls are clear and texting is super easy. The camera quality is okay. It works for quick snapshots. Even though it technically has apps like TikTok and Facebook, I haven't use them, and the phone doesn't feel like it’s demanding my attention every second. The battery life is phenomenal—I charged it this morning and it’s still at 100% after a full day of use! It’s such a relief to have a phone that just WORKS.

Physically the phone is a beauty, but beauty is only skin deep and what's lies within is what matters. Same with cellphones. The build quality is there, but the operating system is where it falls flat. So let's start with the physical, the color (orange) is nice, the screen looks good and sharp, colors don't wash out when viewed from an angle. The keys are nice and clicky, but not as nice as a Blackberry keyboard, the keys backlight is bright and evenly distributed, the faux leather is really just silicone, which is ok for easy cleanup, should retain it's color nicely. The hinge on the flip is nice and quiet and functions well. The camera is horrible, seems more like a VGA camera than a 2mp. The flash isn't very bright so it's not going to help much trying to snap a picture in total darkness. Can't say much about the battery, no way to confirm it's 1000mah, with how light the phone is, there is definitely a small battery in it. The Bluetooth sounds good and connected to my car stereo fine, but doesn't send mp3 tags to car to show artist/song info. Cellular performance: the phone definitely does not have T-Mobile's Band 71 (600 mhz), I did get it to connect to Band 2 (1900 mhz) but call quality was terrible, definitely not using an HD codec, call quality reminded me of those old CDMA 1x phones. Software: The operating system is called RTOS Mocor, developed by MediaTek for their SOC chip based handset feature phones. Of course the OEM modified it to work with the phone's hardware and put Unnecto branding on it. And this is the entire problem with the phone. Something as simple as changing the ringtone is not in the settings menu, you can set custom ringtones from any sound files you may have on an SDCARD, but not for notifications. It has 3 wallpapers, 2 are nice. I did try some of the cloud based apps, very slow and clunky. Didn't try the texting app, but it seemed pretty straight forward. The music app is pretty nice, but you have to make sure to put your music in a folder named My Music, otherwise it will never detect your music. Pushing the call button does not open a dialer like we are all used to on Android and iOS phones, it only opens a menu of recent received calls, rejected calls, and sent calls. I never did find a dialer, maybe it's buried in a submenu somewhere. The speaker phone is tinny, no where near loud enough. Like I said, the operating system is this phone's biggest flaw, if there were move customization options and the menus were more fleshed out, it could be a better device. But in it's current configuration, it's definitely not a $60+ phone, I would say $35 is about what it's worth. This phone started out as another brand called the Frog Pocket 2, it was just slightly upgraded in aesthetics and rebranded for Unnecto, I have no clue to the OEM that makes the phone.

Awful product

I love this dumb phone. It is exactly what it says on the tin: You can make calls, you can send messages, and...that's it. Listen, I adored 2008 – and I am glad that it’s SO back. Even if the functionality is pretty basic (and beware clicking on things you don’t recognize – you may lock your SIM card like I did!), there is still a cloud function which hosts some up-to-date apps, like TikTok, 2048, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X/Twitter, and Insta Reels. I specifically didn’t want those, so I ignore them. But it’s nice to know they’re there if/when you want them. The quality of the phone itself is solid. Beware even the smallest drop, though. I accidentally boffed it about a foot off the ground, and a few small lines of dead pixels (but not cracks!) have formed on my screen. The phone is lightweight, but solid. The phone charges and connects through a USB-C; no idea the compatibility with Apple or Windows products, but I suspect it’ll be fine. Despite the low price, the sound quality is wonderful! If, like me, you are scrolling r/DigitalMinimalism, bemoaning the phones of yore, do yourself a favor and pick up the Unnecto Snap.
