Best affordable router for online gaming and 4K streaming
I was in search of a good and affordable router when my Tp-link router (TL-WR840N) started having issues with 40Mbps fiber broadband connection. It was having frequent internet dropouts and had to restart about 5 times a day. It wont stay connected to my PS4 during fortnite gameplay and same experience with movie streaming on Amazon prime and Netflix. Speed drops drastically and make gaming and streaming impossible. Out of frustration i started looking for a good and affordable router. Came across Tenda AC10 and read lot for reviews from around the world mentioning its excellent price to performance ratio. And i decided to giver it a try. Performance: I am really surprised with its performance and wifi coverage. Now i am getting full wifi coverage in every corner of my house and with full speed for 40 Mbps. No drop in speed at any distance within house. I measured the wifi strength at different point inside house with wifi analyzer app. The place where my PS4 was placed had a signal strength of 75% with old Tp-link router and with Tenda i am getting 98% wifi signal strength. I was getting a speed of around 10 -15 mbps which also drops below 5 mbps with Tp-link. No such issues with Tenda i am getting 40Mbps download and upload speed consistently in every corner of the house. Its been few days and i never experienced any internet dropouts. Overall best performance. And yeah i am using 2.4Ghz band for now and in my observation, the 2.4Ghz band performance of AC10 is better than other brands upto 5K price range (which i tested - Tp-link, Asus, Netgear(these are routers my friends own)). I feel 5Ghz band performance is weaker in tenda compared to Asus and netgear. Not bad for a dual band affordable router though. But there is definitely space for improvement. 2.4 Ghz performance in untouchable by any of the above mentioned brands. So people just getting this for 5Ghz please keep that in mind. I am using just the 2.4Ghz for now and more than happy with the performance. There is a maintenance and reboot feature. I've set it to reboot daily at 3 AM. Which will restart the router and makes software runs smoothly. This router can work as a repeater and AP as well. Beamforming+ is a nice technology and boost signal strength. I cannot comment much on security. I find it similar to other routers from Tp-link or Asus or Dlink. It has WPA2-PSK encryption. I saw settings for other security features inside app, which is nice. This model is without USB. Installation: Installation was a breeze with the tenda quick installer (thru browser). I had set it up in under 10 mins. Just had to connect with ISP to update MAC address of new router. After setup you can download the Tenda app and control the router functionality thru it. Lot of useful features like signal strength selector, Parental control etc. Packaging, Delivery and Build Quality: Delivery was quick with 1 day delivery. Thanks to Amazon and seller for quick turnaround time. Product came in its original box without any extra box or bubble wrap outside. This is due to Amazon's go green initiative. Anyway my product reached safe, so no complaints there. AC10 have a very good plastic cabinet. Sturdy with matte finish. Antenna is a bit wobbly, but no impact on performance or no need to worry about it. 12V1A AC adapter with Indian plug type is included. There is a small Ethernet cable as well as quick install guide. I am really happy with its performance. Thanks for reading.

Right Product, Right Price
I've used many routers till date, but I never found a product that does what it promises. Brands like Dlink, TPlink, Linksys, Cisco, Netgear etc. Are more visible in the market because people "especially people with no technical expertise" want them, for them buying a router is no better than buying a ceiling fan, if their neighbors have Orient they'll buy Orient too... he he! By the way that's exactly how most brands tend to survive in the market with their substandard products and premium pricing. Having expressed my views about those greater brands, let me now give you'll a fair and concise review of "this" product (Tenda AC 10). My Dlink gigabit router is not able to reach most parts of my house, its range is limited to my bedroom, due to which I bought a TP link extender about few months ago, but that failed to deliver too, infact it transmitted data at the most 40 mbps even when connected inside my bedroom and 1000:40 is definitely "Sheet" (deliberate spelling mistake). Note: Playstation network can give you nightmares when a 100gig game is downloaded at 1MB speed. Amazon fire tv on the other hand can work with any network, infact it's such a great device that it can possibly even work with a dialup connection. So my BIG problem was, you know it! Tenda AC 10 with the right setup and placement did the job, I repeated my primary 5G connection with this router and only left 5G network on, to avoid any possible interference, and as you may already know 5G or AC connections are not great when it comes to signal quality, yet this router is able to reach most parts of my house and my PS4 gets over 200mbps data transfer rate. Yes, this may not be the router with all features included such as SIP ALG or FTP ALG (firewall feature) which I use mostly, yet otherwise it has most of what one may need such as Good Firewall, DDNS support, VPN support, WiFi repeater etc. And moreover it has the best signal range of all. I feel astonished when mere repeaters are sold and bought with an inflated price tag when products like Tenda AC10 are there to kill the competition. That's all folks!

Rock-Solid Dual-Band Router with Gigabit Punch – Great Value for Money
The Tenda AC10 AC1200 is one of those routers that quietly overdelivers. Setup is quick, the interface is clean, and within minutes you’re online with stable dual-band Wi-Fi. The 5 GHz band easily handles streaming, gaming, and work calls, while the 2.4 GHz band covers the house without drama. MU-MIMO actually does its job—multiple devices stay connected without speed drops. The four Gigabit LAN ports are a big win at this price point, especially if you’re running a smart TV, PC, or NAS on wired connections. VPN server support and Wi-Fi scheduling add a layer of control usually seen in more expensive routers. The signal strength is solid for apartments and mid-size homes, and heat management is decent even with heavy use. Design is simple and modern—no gamer spaceship vibes, just clean black and functional. Important note: this is not a modem, so you’ll need an ISP modem to pair it with. Overall, if you want reliable performance, smart features, and gigabit speeds without burning a hole in your pocket, the Tenda AC10 is a smart, no-nonsense choice. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Tenda AC10 Router – A Router that is completely Unstable!!
I am not sure whether this situation faced is one of a kind. But I am sure that it is not one of a kind and its basically an issue with the design. Here is my experience. Internet Connection: ACT 200 Mbps Previous Router: Netgear WNR614 N300 Router (Bought in 2016 – Works still well) WiFi Devices: 3 Laptops, 5 Phones Wired Device: 1 Desktop Total Devices: 9 I was using this Netgear Router and it is working perfectly well with WiFi speeds upto 60Mbps anywhere in a good reception. But the only issue I faced with this router is that the signal strength is very less. I cannot use it at the end of my room in Ground Floor. But was satisfied with the optimum performance. I wanted to upgrade to a Gigabit router since my existing Netgear Router supports only till 100Mbps. I am literally wasting another 100Mbps from ACT since the old router does not support. So with so much research and curiosity I got Tenda AC10 because it dropped to a price level of Rs. 2600 or so from Rs. 3600. Got the router setup. Signal Strength was Great. As promised the Signals were the best. I was able to get 150Mbps in 5GHz in Ground floor with the router being in the First floor. The Turbulence started right here. Whatever Voice Calls I do, through WhatsApp or through Cisco Webex in my work laptops everything gets interrupted. There was no stable Voice Connection. Noticed this was getting worse when someone sees a YouTube video in the network. Trust me I have never had this issue in my 100Mbps Router which I have been using for 4 Years. Replaced the Router. Another new Router came in. Connected with hopes. Still the same issue. WhatsApp calls and everything gets disconnected. In-between I spoke with their Tech Support and I felt all my years in IT industry was a real wastage and he treated me like a 1st Grade student with no tech experience. He never understood or even believed my issue at the first place. Troubleshooting: I upgraded the Firmware – Still the Issue persisted Downgraded the Firmware – Still the Issue persisted Disconnected all the devices & connected only my Work Laptop – Still the issue persisted Enabled Maximum Bandwidth Allocation(QOS) to my iPhone - Still the issue persisted Pros: Excellent WiFi Connection. My house is a 2 Storey and it works excellent. I believe it should give you at-least 3 Bars of WiFi signals in a 3 Storey house too. Haven’t checked though. (5 Star*****) Cons: No Stable Internet Connection at all for Voice Calls A 1K Router which I am using for 4 Years is still able to perform Miracle with just 100Mbps Connection No Tech Support at All!!!! So I would never suggest this Router to anyone who wants to set this device as a Base Router. But if you want to use this Router as a Repeater to another Gigabit Router, then you can go for it. But I have not tested it in that mode yet. Again for something this price I would suggest this is not an expected Router. On the other hand, I got a TP Link Archer C6 and this is working like a beast. Its been 5 days now. Too early to comment. But still no issues to report for now. Especially the issue which I faced with Tenda AC10 has vanished away. Routers Used: Netgear WNR614 MI 3C MI 4C TP Link Archer C6

Best router
I've been using this router for the past three years, and my experience has been excellent. The setup was straightforward, and it has consistently provided a stable and strong signal throughout my home. The range covers multiple rooms, and it handles multiple devices without any noticeable drop in speed. The router’s user interface is easy to navigate, making it simple to manage settings and security features. Even after years of continuous use, it remains reliable with minimal downtime. Overall, Tenda offers great value for money with consistent performance, making it a dependable choice for home networking.

Fast, but needs rebooting often. Won't recommend.
Pros : Easy to configure. Copies settings and credentials from old router via simple procedure. Dual mode 2.4 & 5ghz. Stays connected under minor electric fluctuations such as switching to and back from invertor. Supports upto 30 devices. Can be controlled via mobile app. Option to disable 5ghz and adjust Wifi strength. Cons : Multiple Antenna seems a gimmick. 2.4ghz coverage not much stronger than old twin antenna cheap router even at full power. 5ghz range is quite poor, which is theoretically typical. Worst is that often the connection stalls (once or twice every week) and is resolved only by rebooting the router. Though there is option for automatic scheduled maintenance, if there is ongoing data traffic it is skipped. In any case I do not appreciate any need for scheduled maintenance / reboots as evident by such function; and consider it a shortcoming / defect. My previous router worked trouble free for around two years without requiring any reboots, before its power supply blew. Overall : Not Recommended. Though it is fast when it works, easy to configure, and better than some others, I simply do not like that it requires occasional reboots to keep working. It's a deal breaker as far as I'm concerned. When I'm not around and it stalls, smart devices around the house go offline. Maybe its a known defect which is why this particular model AC10 is being offered at a discount, even after which its not cheap. Would've returned it but missed the window by a few days.

Value for Money. Better features than competition. But No Updates !
Its a brilliant WiFi router for 2.5K. 1. 2.4GHz network offers solid range. 5 Ghz range is pathetic , which was more or less expected. 2. Gigabit ports. 5GHz WiFi speed tests on my 200Mbps fiber shows close to 180 Mbps. Which is more than ideal considering my ISP is asianet. 3. Can set bandwidth limit for Guest networks ( really handy feature) 4. Tenda Mobile App works ok. Although it does not provide many of the features that is shown via desktop brower. 5. Can limit Uplink and Bandwith to individual users based on MAC address. 6. MIMO is nice to have feature. Network latency has come down to less than 20 ms ( PubG gaming) .Previous router used to give ~80 ms when I had 3 or 4 clients conected. This works fine with ~ 5 devices running games parallely. Cons : 1. Tenda cloud does not work. Shows connectivity issue to their servers. Because of this the router also shows internet disconnected although things are working just fine. I tried changing MTU sizes, still it does not seem to work. Does everyone have this issue ? 2. Does not have support for OpenVPN !!! I really wanted this feature ! Hence 1 star less. 3. No updates since 2018.

It does it’s job
Product works really good and it is undoubtedly fast. Only gave it 4 star because the router cannot be controlled on the app when configured as a WISP Edit: 2 Weeks later and i totally agree with Akhil Kochhar‘s detailed review from back in 02 Sep 2020. This thing drops signal very dismally, it’s like it decides when it is going to be fast, I’m definitely returning it back.
