“The Jungle Book” is an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a man-cub raised in the jungle by a family of wolves who embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery when he’s forced to abandon the only home he’s ever known.

Beyond fantasy and fable: this is Life Coaching!
There are bullies out there; they try and they try and they try to break you. They try to frighten you. Never yield to them. Fight them and be victorious, just like Mowgli the man-cub fought Sher Khan and the King of the Bandar Log.The Bandar Log king promises Mowgli a source of security—a people. So do the bullies who twist your arm. Like the king of the Bandar Log, they claim to love you, but they threaten you as well. Carrot and stick! Don't judge them by their sweet words. Judge them by what they do—the hurt they wantonly inflict, with cold-blooded intent. As for their profession of love: is it compatible with the festering sores in your soul that they are responsible for? “We didn’t hurt him”, they then say, “It is he who got hurt!” What a monumental farce!Chart and independent course! Be the master of your own destiny! That is the message of The Jungle Book. But the story tells much more; it shows how, by dint of his character—his resolve to stand up to bullies; his compassion, selflessness and ingenuity in saving the elephant baby, which earns him new allies; his integrity, which he demonstrates when he does not flinch from repaying Baloo for a good deed (this cements a budding friendship between the two of them); and his problem-solving capacity rooted in his human intelligence and cunning—he overwhelms a formidable enemy, Sher Khan, and brings the whole jungle together in a all-inclusive camaraderie.“Be who you are; embrace your uniqueness!”, is Baloo the Bear's counsel to Mowgli; this is contrary to what Bagheera the Panther wants for his ward, Mowgli the man cub; he wants him to embrace the ways of the wolf so he becomes one of the pack.Mowgli learns his lesson: belong to the pack, but don’t just be another wolf; be who you are! Then the chant of the man cub's wolf people takes on new meaning: "The strength of the pack is the wolf; and the strength of the wolf is the pack!"Finally, the fact that Mowgli’s self-imposed exile is pre-empted by a landslide suggests the hidden hand of a higher power. Man proposes; God disposes! But what is God trying to tell us here? “Don’t leave behind unfinished business; finish it and only then move on”?

Its is an original bluray disc from Sony DADC. It has English, Hindi and three more language audios to choose in the menu. Amazing 3D experience. It requires 3D player, 3D TV and 3D glasses all in place, to enjoy. Thanks and Enjoy...

Great movie !
Great movie but I returned it as the disc plays only 3D and I wanted both 3D and 2D versions on the same disc. I also felt it had little 3D pop out effects, so if primarily intended for kids, 2D version might serve better.

Spectacular
I don’t think that this film is better than the original, I mean the original is a classic, but I do prefer this movie more. The story is newer, the characters and voices actors are amazing, and the movie came in perfectly.

Beautifully made and for all ages
Amazing story brought in such a beautiful way with a live young boy that was raised & living with wolves in the jungle (all the animals are animated but you feel like they're real and their voices are from GREAT actors). It blew me away when I saw it for the 1st time and thereafter. I'm a senior and didn't expect to love this movie so much. The story & characters are mesmerizing. It was directed & co-produced by Jon Favreau (he's a genius) who also directed some of the Marvel Movies (he even acted in them - very funny). Highly recommend this jaw-dropping movie.

Passable
Like the cartoon version of this story, the movie suffers from an identity crisis; it doesn't know whether it is a drama or musical. For example, it took a long time getting to first song. So, roughly, the first half of the film was a drama while the second half was a musical. It was amazing, though, that the entire show was made in Downtown L.A., because it looked convincingly like a jungle. The interactions with the animals was largely-amazing, too!Again, this movie was safe for the whole family and was entertaining.Still, it could have used 3 or 4 additional songs! Also, having a character sing a song, in the movie, while using one voice, but having that character sing the same song, during the ending credits, with a different voice, seemed unnecessarily-confusing. I'm not sure why Disney did it, because the second voice was not better than the first. Clearly, though, it was a different artist and version of the same song. For me, however, it took away, from the film. For example, you might notice that, instead of saying how much the movie was enjoyable - and much of it was - I'm complaining about the second voice which seemed out of place. Again, though, I'm not sure why Disney used a different voice. Consistency is important! While I'm at it, another thing that bothered me was the show's left-wing preachiness. For me, it came off as counter-intuitive, artificial and unnecessary. In a real life potential 'fight-to-the-death', for instance, nobody is going to throw away their weapon before going to battle! I know that doing something as dumb as that suits the left-wing political narrative/dogma (that, if one party doesn't have a weapon, then neither should, because it's a 'fairness' issue, for some people, or something like that), but it's just not realistic - and I thought realism was a big reason, for make a live-action film!Furthermore, I didn't like the voice of the snake. Disney employed a sound effect so the voice would sound something other than flat, but it also came off as unnaturally-dead. Yet, the effect seemed...as I said "unnatural" and, probably, unnecessary, if Disney had hired the right person, to provide the voice of the snake.I think somebody, like Kristie Alley, would have given the snake's character the 'bounce' and 'liveliness' it needed in order to fit in with the rest of the characters - which, as it stood, seemed like a mis-match not only of characters, but also of moods - as if the director did not know what end effect he/she wanted to produce. If I was in charge, then I would have gone with Kristie and sought to make a largely fun-type adventurous product.Disney should have done more planning, before filming.Sadly, I feel as though much opportunity was lost.- William F.
