Collects the seven Dark Nights: Batman tie-in one-shots and Dark Knights Rising: The Wild Hunt #1. Review: Batman - Pretty good book like the art work. Review: Wow, just an insane ride and some of the most beautiful and innovative drawings I've seen - A great read and love the backstory done of each dark knight. I absolutely loved the way they took the stories and flipped them the way they did to create the dark knights. And just some of the best art and drawings I've seen personally. The doomsday-batman and the the cyborg-batman all of them were drawn so well and incorporated parts of who they were and now mixed with the dark knight was something amazing to see and then to get to read how and why each one went the way they did. Also I loved seeing how and who the batman who laughs made his little Robin's. Loved this and one of the more original and innovative crises they've come up with. I can't say enough good things, and a definite must read.

Amazing
It showed up quickly which pleased me. I haven't read it yet, but I'm looking forward to it. This gives a lot of background to the Death Metal series, which I have read, and thoroughly enjoyed. So now I need to go back and read Metal. Many of the characters on which Todd McFarlane draws as his source material came from this storyline, among others. I have some of those figures, and seeing them in the pages of these comics, or graphic novels in this case, is just a real gas!

Entertaining Tie-in to Dark Nights: Metal
Minor spoilers. This volume, a tie-in to Dark Nights: Metal, gives the backstories for the 7 psychotic Batmen from the dark multiverse and is pretty solid as a standalone. Good art, decent elseworld-type tales, and a few interesting twists and turns. My only gripe, and it is very minor, is that after the first couple issues they all start to feel a bit same-y. A version of Bruce in another world suffers tragedy, goes too far and breaks his code, steals or is corrupted by power from another hero/villain, watches world fall apart, and joins Barbatos. That's pretty much the formula, give or take a few present day glimpses at the events of Metal. Still, there are some pretty unsettling/gruesome events, which is always part of the fun of alternate universes--things you could never expect, or want, to see in the main continuity. So, if nothing else, it's a dark and entertaining ride, and definitely worth checking out if you liked the main Metal storyline.

Awesome back story for Metal
This is an awesome story, but don't read this until you read Dark Days: The Road to Metal. What a great series!

Ever find yourself understanding the "bad guys"?
This book is incredible. I should have read it sooner. I completely missed this series and I'm glad it was recommended to me. Each of the dark batmen have an interesting back story. It seems survival is a strong theme here. The back stories about the Devastator, the One Who Laughs, and Red Death affected me the most. Well written. Well drawn. I would recommend.

Worth it!!
Amazing book the seller was ahead of schedule top marks for that. Came in perfect condition as advertised, book itself is pretty good the death machine was a lot more interesting back story than I thought it would be. The backstory of every bad twisted Batman is very unique and interesting considering Batman can never kill ...well guess what now he can and In some pretty interesting ways. This is just a chapter of the metal saga but it's one of the best parts!!!

Dark Nights Metal

Best Part of the Metal Event!
This book was awesome. Probably the best of the four Metal books, including the main Dark Nights: Metal storyline. While I love Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, I thought it didn't offer us a good enough showcase for what I felt was the coolest concept of this whole event: the nightmare Batmen. This book gives us a look at the origin of each twisted version of Batman after their respective universes collapse into darkness and chaos. Each version of Batman is terrifying. Some of the stories are even tragic. Others are straight up sadistic. All of it makes for an amazing "What If" scenario and it's one hell of a ride. My personal favourite story was the Batman Who Laughs. Straight up messed! Do yourself a favor and pick this up. Even if you passed on Metal. It might actually be better to read this before Metal (with the exception of the final issue), as it gives a lot of depth to the villains of the story. Amazing stuff, loved it.

Stupendo
