Great gift for grandson

This cook book is being used in my home schoolers cooking lessons. There not many photos which is a good thing because there nothing for her to compare it too and feel disappointed if it doesn't look the same. The true gift of this but and the others with the same title is there no short cuts or hacks. You do not know how many times she been given cookbooks where the recipe calls for her to buy per-packaged biscuits, or mac & cheese to learn how to make "Biscuits- donuts" or just mac & cheese add a hot dog. You will NOT find that in these books. On the rare recipe that it might call for roman noodles there a ton of stuff to do. Most recipes call for the user to make everything from scratch. The recipes are tasty, pretty easy to fallow, detailed and the not having pics. Make it so no one is disappointed it doesn't LOOK like the photo. So if you are looking to teach your teen to really cook there meals this book and all the others with this title are perfect for that. My daughter loves her night to cook and throws us out of 'her' kitchen when she is cooking.

This book is, for the most part, good and has many recipes I want to try, but some of the recipes don't work, such as the flourless double chocolate cookies. I followed the recipe exactly, but these cookies were weird and not that good tasting. They were over-chocolatey, so if you make these I would recommend adding less cocoa powder, and they were a bad texture, so I would also recommend adding flour if you're not allergic to gluten. I also made the banana bread recipe from this book which turned out to be delicious, but I would not make the flourless double chocolate cookies from this book again without altering some of the ingredients.

Great cookbook for young bakers! Easy to follow recipes

My ten year old daughter loves to cook and bake. She was able to follow instructions easily in this book and has made some delicious treats!

My now-13 year old just found a love of baking so we got him this book. Fantastic variety of desserts and levels of preparation. Recipes are easy to follow and nicely explained. He now has the book, a pantry of basic ingredients and whips us up some of the most delicious treats we’ve ever tasted, without much or any assistance.

I brought this for my 12 year old who has started to bake. She loves this book. It is full of lots of useful information about health and safety, equipment, conversion tables and the basics of cooking and baking as well as the recipes. It is well written, clear instructions and descriptions suitable for older children. It does lack photos and illustrations of the recipes but the well written recipes make up for that . Good selection of recipes including baking and meals My daughter has so far made sweet and savoury recipes including mac n cheese. All have been successful, tasty and needing minimal adult help. Its giving her a real confidence boost in the kitchen. Highly recommend for any budding Mary Berry or Paul Hollywood's out there !

Given this is a teens cookbook I would have liked some photos included.I was a little disappointed

I am a senior who loves this Teen cookbook!

This is an excellent cookbook for young bakers, it was brought for a 12 year old who loves it!! Has been cooking almost independently and loves the levels as she can start off easy and get harder. However, it is American so some phrases differ to an English cookbook and measurements done in cups but this is easily fixed with the right equipment.
