Great product!
My son's OT introduced us to these little buggers. Inside the house, my blood pressure was up there. He was throwing them EVERYWHERE. They bounce too! (Making it even more fun to chase after them for clean up). They are slippery / slimy so picking them up is difficult. If you squeeze them they crumble in your hands. I wouldn't recommend squeezing them! My son got a kick out of squeezing them.I was using a plastic spoon to scoop them up during cleanup. This actually was effective. However, it was time consuming considering the amount of beads there were on the floor. When they were on the carpet, they were collecting dog hair and whatever other nastiness was on the carpet. It was gross, I'm not even going to lie.An hour and a half later, my son's speech therapist came over and they sat and played with the beads as well. Round two... (Sigh). The beads collected even more dog hair and nastiness. My son was throwing them around again. They were rolling under the kitchen table this time. It was a hot mess. It really was....I found myself buying them later in the day though. Why??? Because the joy my son got from them. He was literally playing with these for a good 30-35 minutes with the OT. And another 25-30 minutes with his speech therapist. We received this item in the mail today. Having never purchased water beads or starting them from the beginning, I didn't know what to expect. The beads are SUPER tiny when they are dry. And as I'm looking at the pack, I'm thinking is there REALLY 70,000 beads in here? Well, I'm not going to sit down and count them all but based on the amount I put in water (and seeing how much was there), I think it's safe to say there are in fact 70,000 of these beads. As many people commented, there were no instructions included. Anyone that has ever had a toy that grows in water, knows you add a lot of water. It's common sense. I started off with what I thought was a good amount. As the beads expanded, I just added more water. (The longer they sit in the water, the larger they become). Just keep adding water as needed. It's pretty simple. Also probably why the company didn't waste money on instructions...When I first thought they were "done", I was disappointed because they were smaller in size compared to the ones the OT used. At first I drained the water thinking "oh well". Then I thought what if they do in fact get bigger? I filled the bowl up again with water and let them sit. Again, adding water as needed. Lo and behold, they are the same size now as the OT's water beads were!!Believe me when I say "a little bit goes a long way". You don't really realize how many there are until you soak them in water. I'd start with a teaspoon or so and go from there. It's funny too because when I was pouring some into the bowl, I thought what if this isn't enough. Then I thought I can always add more. What I poured was plenty! Again, you don't realize how many there are until they expand. As far as size, people were commenting that they are smaller than marbles. This is true. They are smaller than marbles. This was not off-putting to me, as this is what I saw when I was introduced to them. So I didn't expect marble sized beads. My son's OT suggested using his water table outside with the beads. Which is what we did today. It went a lot smoother. It was a LOT less stressful for me. There was no messy cleanup like in the house. He once again was throwing them around. We were able to recover some that flew into the grass. From what his OT said, they shrink when they dehydrate and basically get back down to there original size. So no need to worry about the little ones (or pets) digesting them. I would HIGHLY recommend using these outside. Whether it's a bucket, water table, or some large container. It really does make clean up so much easier. Please note: You WILL lose beads during playtime. It's just a given. They will either get smashed, lost or whatever. Luckily, there are so many, it's not the end of the world. If you are an uptight parent that will be upset about this, I would not recommend this toy.

It’s a lot of Water beads.
70,000 Easily fills up a 5 gallon bucket. If that’s how many you want this is great, I however did not realize it would be so much. (I bought them and didn’t open it for a while so I forgot how many I ordered. Package doesn’t say quantity on it) I should have hydrated a small amount and saved the rest for other times. I didn’t let them hydrate the whole way because clearly I was running out of space. So it would probably take up twice the space once fully hydrated. So if you only want a smallish container for your kid to play in don’t do what I did and dump out the whole bag to hydrate all at once. Big regret. I don’t know what I was thinking or what I’m going to do with a giant bucket of water beads. But they’re great. I don’t imagine they’ll get as big as advertised. Some may break depending on how they’re played with. The scissor-like scooper can break them if you’re not careful. But, there’s plenty. My kid of course wanted to squeeze them and step on them which caused them to rip and break. They’ll bounce all over the place if you’re kid throws them or even just dropping them on the floor so keep that in mind for where you have them play with it.If you want them to be reusable I’d recommend searching online for how to do that BEFORE hydrating them because the package doesn’t give any instructions for that at all.

Messy fun
I read the reviews and I expected these to get all over.I didn’t expect them to bounce! The kids (age 2 and 1) made a game of throwing them at the floor to see how much they would bounce.I would reserve them for outdoor use, but I need indoor sensory activities for the kids to get through this MN winter.I didn’t think they got very big based on what I read from other reviews, but they are perfect size for little hands. The tools that came with them are perfect, especially if you don’t have any yet.Medicine cups are also fun to use for throwing these on the floor. All in all, the kids have fun and want to play with these all the time. It’s best to just sit back and let chaos ensue.Don’t try to contain the mess.Just clean it all up at the end - and make sure you get all of them. Our dogs try to eat them, and after seeing that, so did my 2 year old.

A lifetime of water beads
Omg this makes so many! I knew that going into it and THOUGHT I only used a small, proper amount but we ended up changing containers 3 times before putting them into 3 large buckets. They just kept on growing! Next time we’ll have to use just a pinch lolThey are good quality and are actually incredibly difficult to pop unless you are really trying to (or accidentally stepOn them) but they do disintegrate the second they hit the dirt. A bit messy but lots of fun!Took off a star because I know these were inexpensive it honestly, they could have done a lot better with the cheap janky tools!!

Fun activity
These are fun little beads! And don’t let the size fool you. We filled a third of a coffee mug with these little things and added the water. Quickly realized we needed a bigger container so I transferred to a medium sized Tupperware. They kept growing and I had to transfer yet again, and ended up with two LARGE containers full (see picture for single container size). My 6yo and 8yo really enjoyed playing with these. We used the included scoopers, as well as some kitchen tools, sorted into muffin containers, etc. it was a lot of fun for a few days, then the kids got bored. But that’s ok, because we still have a TON of those dry beads left to play again in the future.

Great product but poor packaging
Water beads are great but the packaging is poor - beads are loose in the box, and the bottom of the box opened slightly during transport. Fortunately the box was inside a mailing sleeve!

Great value
These are great for kids. They give that hands on experience and can be used in so many ways. Would definitely buy again. Used for 10+ kids for a month (1 bucket of clean beads) per day, really good value
