Shenzhen Knives. Ceramic Blade Mandoline Slicer

No surprises here. This slicer works as advertised. It's a relatively simple, non-adjustable device for making thin slices of whatever you're slicing with it. It works well, the ceramic blade stays very sharp, the included hand guard makes safety an easy consideration.

I chose this item because I wanted a Mandolin that cut very, very thin. This does a good job of that, however, it only cuts in one direction which makes it harder to use. The one I had before, a different manufacturer, which broke after several years, cut very very thin in both directions, it was faster and much easier to use.

Good size for various shaped veggies. Easy to hold. Sharp, reliable blade: no "snags." Other reviewers described the slice thickness as "paper thin." Not so. Slices have a bit more body than "paper thin." However, unless you are a trained chef with awesome knife skills, the thickness of the slices this tool produces are still thinner than you could get slicing by hand. Bottom line: very good, quality product that does what it says it will do.

Works well. I didn't notice the hand guard in the box before I used it, so I did slice my thumb pretty good. I find it ironic the guy in the photo isn't using the hand guard! Hah. It slices great.

I really like this mandoline slicer!! The fact that the blade is ceramic versus a metal blade was what initially piqued my interest. It find it really wasteful when you have to replace a slicer because the blade starts to get rusty and with this slicer you don't have to worry about that. I would definitely recommend this.

It's okay

The ceramic blade doesn't cut citrus rinds and is therefore useless for my needs. In general the thickness and bluntness of the ceramic blade results in thicker, messier slices than expected.

I'm eating more veggies now! I love paper thin slices of purple onion and fennel.
