B&W Trailer Hitches Companion Fifth Wheel Hitch - RVK3500

Update: This hitch saved my life today! Was getting towed out of a ditch up hill (400ft). Half way up, the heavy recovery truck's chain slipped and me and my 17100lbs of 45' toy hauler slide !VERY fast! down the hill and ran into a tree that stopped the trailler !solid! The king pin sheared right off the tow tounge but the pin stayed in the hitch. The hitch held all the force of the F350 dully and it absorbed the shock of the truck which continued to run into the front of the trailer. My gooseneck in the bed is a bit bent forward and the feet of the hitch put deep dents in the bed but it never let go! If this hitch was not built tough, I think the trailer would have went through the back window of the F350! Thank you B&W! Heavy as %#*$ but top quality! Everything about this hitch is great. I have a B W gooseneck hitch in the truck an use this to pull my 17k 45ft 5th wheel and love how easy it is to both auto latch the pin and CLEARLY see that it is latched or not. Handles are smooth and easy to operate. Update: now using the hitch for almost a year on a 17,100 rig 45' 5th wheel and still think this hitch is AWESOME. never had a false hitch and clearly can see if it's fully coupled. Now opinion is I will ALWAYS choose a BW hitch. Solid quality! 2nd update: September 2024 Still working with never a fault and never a false connection. Used first time today for a 250 mile trip pulling a used camper I bought to home. Hookup was painless as everything was level at the campground I met the seller at. The spring that keeps fifth wheel level front to back seemed to help lining things up while backing under the camper. No slop in the hitch on the ride home. Ran 72-75 most of the trip. When got home to park the camper, had to block under one side to get it level side to side on my gravel driveway. I remembered in the past with another brand that the truck and camper not both sitting level side to side with each other that I had problems with the pull pin releasing & getting the camper hooked or unhooked & that level ness of the trk compared to the trailer became a pain in the rear often while hooking or unhooking them. After leveling the camper side to side, I just unhooked the jaws and drive out from under it no problem at all. I backed under it again just to see if it woul be hard to get the jaws to lock at the different side to side angel the trk was sitting compared to camper. No problems at all. The cam lock style works great and that’s the reason I bought the b&w brand hitch. Gooseneck to 5th wheel or vice versa is under 10 mins. I carry a torque wrench and socket behind the rear seat to install or remove the hitch any time now.. plan to use it for a trip to Yellowstone in a few months.

We recently upgraded from a bumper pull camper to a fifth wheel. I had a B&W turn over ball already in the truck. We first went with a fifth wheel to gooseneck adaptor. It worked well but you could still hear and feel a little play since we were hooked up to a ball. We plan a couple long trips each year and planned to start pulling the boat behind the camper. I was a little reluctant to spend the extra money to upgrade. I bit the bullet and ordered this hitch for peace of mind. It was a great decision. It took a little while to assemble because I wasn't sure what height setting I needed. After getting it all set up, this is the easiest hitch to hook up and it pulls great. No more rattle from being hooked up to a gooseneck ball. When it comes to latching the King Pin, there is no question about it being hooked correctly. The handle falls into place, you put in the safety pin and its ready to roll. It's a little heavy to put in and take out of the bed of the truck but I would recommend this to anyone pulling a fifth wheel. Great purchase.

Quite possibly the best 5th wheel hitch made and it's MADE IN THE USA!! I am very impressed with this hitch. It's very well built and easy to use. The only draw back is it's weight. I'm 6ft and 200 lbs and almost need a second set of hands to get this in and out of the truck. I can do it by myself but it's a chore. With a second set of hands I can install it in a matter of minutes. I like the the fact that jaws are 1" thick and make 360 deg contact with the king pin, unlike some "economy" hitches. We tend to park our RV in unimproved camp sites so the fully articulating head makes hooking up on the unlevel ground a breeze. This hitch is more expensive than other "economy" hitches but in this case you really get what you pay for. This hitch should last me 20 yrs or more. Oh, and did I mention... it's MADE IN THE USA!!

Outstanding hitch, easy to assemble, easy to use, absolute unit.

Easy setup, kinda heavy but manageable.

We have always loved B & W! They are great quality. We bought this so that we could haul our 5th wheel camper. With this it pulls alot better and smoother than our old bumper pull we had! * installation was a bit of a pain but only because we have a plastic bed liner in our pickup that was a pain to cut precisely so that this could fit in our pickup level, but aside from that it was fairly easy! I also re ommend buying the B & W lubrication disc with it as well, so you wont have to use the greasy gunk🙂

Hitch is super easy to assemble. It literally took me longer to find the 7/16 wrench, than to put this thing together. So easy that even big city folk could even get this thing put together. The construction of the hitch is very good. Welds are good and solid with decent penetration. I’m pulling a 6 ton trailer with this hitch and it’s quiet when pulling and turning. I highly recommended this hitch. Been pulling our camper with this hitch for about 2 months now. Hitch has been great. No issues at all. Easy to operate and easy to take out and put back in when you need your whole bed.

It arrived on time. In two boxes, and as advertised it is heavy. Not something one person alone would be able to lift in or out of the truck box on their own without some difficulty. But very well built, strong, and should last for many years.
