Greenworks 40V 2.0Ah Lithium-Ion High-Power Battery(Genuine Battery / 75+ Compatible Tools)

I would highly recommend this battery from Greenworks. The original Greenworks batteries are a little more expensive but are much better than the 3rd party import ones you can buy. I was able to catch this one on sale so that made the price even better. Also, I really like these 2.5Ah batteries for weed eater because they don't add a lot of weight like the bigger/higher amp hour batteries.

The upgraded battery is well worth buying, and functions much better than any of the copies I have tried.

This situation is quite frustrating. I am unable to get the battery to function properly. Despite fully charging it and repeatedly reconnecting it to the charger, each time I start my mower, it shuts off within 2 to 10 seconds, with the latter being a rare, fortunate instance. I have exhausted all available online resources to troubleshoot the battery issue. I am attempting to acquire a second battery so I can mow the yard in a single session. Generally, a higher amp-hour (Ah) rating indicates better performance, or so I believe. I was willing to invest extra in an upgraded, supposedly superior battery version, but I cannot get the current battery to operate reliably. As soon as I turn on the mower, the green indicator lights decrease from four to one, then to zero, and the mower turns off. This ongoing problem is highly disappointing. Is this a brand-specific issue, or does the 5.0 version have a defect? The frequency of this problem seems higher than what reviews suggest. I may need to consider switching to a different brand, as I appreciate the mower itself, but the battery performance is unacceptable. This is a significant investment, and it is unacceptable for the battery not to work properly.
