Best Ice Cream Ever!!!
I have been wanting to get an ice cream maker because all of the ice cream these days has a ton of trash ingredients, so much so that some of them can't be listed as ice cream anymore. With that being said depending on what flavor you want this machine can make it with only a few ingredients and it does an awesome job. My wife made vanilla soft serve using the GreenPan recipe with regular sugar and vanilla with the coconut sugar and the coconut sugar by far gives the ice cream that over the top flavor because it neutralizes the vanilla extract. Both batches were quick and the texture was great. The machine is built sturdy and the GreenPan brand is very good. We own a set of the pots so I have been watching this machine waiting for a sale as it is a bit pricey. The machine keeps the temperature perfect and even after putting it in the freezer it still has a great texture.Honestly can't wait to break out the new juicer so we can try the natural flavored sherbet. The kids love the ice cream and we love the option of using all natural ingredients.

I cracked 2 bowls in 4 weeks. Defective product. See other similar reviews.
I can show you more photos of the two cracked bowls. I had to take them in order to get them replaced. After the 2nd one I was offered yet another bowl, but they are out so it was going to be 2 months waiting. I can tell you why they are out, because they break. My first broke in the 2nd week of use, the second broke after 2 uses. I see there are others with the same issue, not sure how anyone doesn't have this issue, unless the seal portion on some units pulls tighter. I heard mine crack when I put it on. With all my going back and forth with GreenPan on the warranty and replacements I missed the return window. The vendor and Amazon understood that I tried to get this fixed and refunded me my money. BUT, here is my issue, this would be an amazing product, the ice cream, the slushies, the lemonade slushies, margaritas were great. There was no competitor (until 2 weeks ago) that had a compressor and could do all these types of items. Seriously, I and my AI friends searched and searched, until just last week a competitor emerged with a very similar product, which we ordered. Last notes on this, the bowl has a double wall, and water gets in that wall during use and washing, there is only a door at the bottom to let water out, so the inside gets wet and cloudy and starts to look bad. No way to clean it. Until this bowl is fixed, I recommend you not buy this. FYI, I have done 3000+ reviews and only a few times have I said, do not buy. Hopefully they get a new bowl, this could be a great product.

Amazing ice cream!
Saw this ice cream maker on a PBS sponsorship promo. So, I was inclined to like it, but I'm IMPRESSED!Malted milk shakes at home. I know my ingredients, mix/match my recipes and can have it lickety-split. Tastes amazing, froze quickly, milkshake texture, not loud.Whatever team designed this should be designing cars, buildings, electronics and anything else the public needs to be functional, have ease-of-use, explicit instructions and a large dose of common sense!

Works on keto with some tweaks
I really hesitated on buying this. I didn't know if I could justify the cost for something that just makes treats. Especially since I try to stay keto. I did some research and bought this along with some allulose syrup and guar gum. It's been fun playing around with the amounts of each addition, but I have gotten some really good soft serve and slushies. The first thing I made was some real margaritas with a margarita mix and it was restaurant quality (not keto 😉). Then I wanted some soft serve so I used one prepared keto chow shake, four teaspoons of allulose syrup and a teaspoon and a half of guar gum. The consistency for soft serve was perfect and it didn't taste too sweet. I've tried those ratios many times and it doesn't always work. You just have to keep tweaking it. I also tried sparkling ice bottled drinks with about two teaspoons of allulose syrup and got really good slushies. But again two teaspoons doesn't always work. Sometimes it's too frozen and sometimes it's not frozen enough. The nice thing with the allulos syrup is you can add it while it's churning. I'm glad I spent the money because I imagine I will be using this almost every day during the summer. I haven't had too much trouble with the cleanup. I use the clean function on the machine and then I usually take it apart and just give it a quick rinse and wipe down. No big deal. I do you have some concerns about how long this will last because everything is plastic except for the handle. So far it feels sturdy but plastic doesn't always have a long life span. All things considered I am very happy with this machine and I would highly recommend.

This is the one
Purchased this product; and also the Ninja Swirl thinking I would do a comparison myself on how close to good soft serve each machine could produce. Caught both on special so the price of each was almost identical. Also bought some Dole Orange Soft Serve Mix (here on Amazon) to try out the machines. Used a Dole recipe I found online (started with 1 cup of Dole mix) and instead of the 3 cups of water in this recipe, I used 2 cups water and 1 cup whole milk. Mixed it in a large measuring cup with a whisk. Into the Greenpan the mix went; and started the machine on the default L4 setting for soft serve. (UPDATE: Later batches I used 1 cup heavy cream instead of the 1 cup whole milk to make it creamier; and set the machine to L5)All I can say is WOW....it was perfect. Dispensed into pre-chilled bowls and what a treat it was. The quantity of mix using the 1-cup Dole recipe was too much for two people (we ate it until we couldn't any more lol). Leftovers went into a pre-chilled glass container with an airtight cover and into the freezer. Next day I had orange sorbet....yum.Next was vanilla soft serve...2 cups whole milk, 3/4 cup heavy cream, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tbsp instant vanilla pudding mix powder, and 2 tsp vanilla extract. Tasty! I did bump up the cold setting to L5 to get it a little more firm. And might use slightly less vanilla extract next time. Experimentation is part of the fun. While some recipes include adding salt, I don't add salt to any of the mixes I've made.Turns out I never opened the Ninja Swirl box...it went back to the store. The Greenpan was that good. Who wants to wait 24 hours to satisfy a frozen treat craving? And what do I do with the store-bought ice cream I had in the freezer? Decisions, decisions.VERY IMPORTANT - Since this unit has an internal compressor, upon initial delivery; or if the unit has been placed on its side for any period of time, it must be allowed to sit upright for AT LEAST 2 hours (the longer the better) before turning on, to allow the compressor oil to flow back down into the bottom of the compressor. If not done, the compressor can be damaged and will significantly shorten its life. Also, I would recommend to not lift the machine by grabbing the plastic mixing chamber or the handle - it will put pressure on the slots that hold the mixing chamber onto the machine and might break them, causing a leak.So far I've made two batches of Dole mix (pineapple and orange), two batches of vanilla soft serve and one chocolate soft serve in the span of about 10 days. I'm gonna get fat lol........

Great Machine
The entire family is enjoying this machine. The ice function in this hot weather is a hit for young and old. It is pretty quiet and performs as expected. 1 issue is we wish it held more. In comparison to similar machines the capacity is similar. Maybe next gen.

Worked great for 6 uses—then the plastic literally crumbled. Completely unusable now.
I almost never leave product reviews. For me to actually sit down and write one, something has to be so bad that I feel completely ripped off and cheated out of my money. That is exactly why I am writing this.To be fair, for the short period I was able to use it, it actually did what it was supposed to do. I used it maybe six or seven times, and it made great slushies, soft serve ice cream, and milkshakes. I had zero complaints about the performance initially. The problem is the absolute garbage quality of the plastic used on the top assembly/chute and latching mechanism. I bought tens of thousands of dollars worth of kitchen appliances and household machines over the last few years, so I know what decent build quality looks like. The plastic on this machine is so cheap and brittle that it literally crumbles.First, one of the closing latch mechanisms crumbled and broke off. Then another one followed right after.Because the housing/latch system failed, the unit can no longer seal. It is now completely unusable, doesn't make slushies, and just leaks liquid all over the place.Save your money. A machine at this price point shouldn't fall apart and become trash after half a dozen uses.Let me know if you want to add or tweak anything before posting!

3 red-dixie-cup max volume per cycle; Once the cylinder is chilled, follow-up runs are faster.
First and foremost, this size unit allows for about 3 red dixie-cups worth of drinks when filled to the max-line, so know this going in!Awesome that it has an on-board compressor to freeze drinks, used it a full day and perhaps 10 different drink configurations during a party without issue, but as others have mentioned, the handle is a poor design ..... bordering on a dumpster fire. It does leak a little at the pour spout due to the horrid & very loose design - which they apparently upgraded later on but failed to go back and correct on this model .... maybe because they were too cheap to realize the fail and make a minor edit that everyone asked for because it would cost them a few cents per unit to address?? Dunno, but when ya shell out $400+ on a machine, you would think the company would go back and fix obvious design flaws as easy to correct as this....Settings take some patience to learn based on desired consistency, definitely not a set-&-forget unit until you learn all the astro-physics involved with sugar & alcohol content affecting texture outcomes .... but yeah, you don't need a graduate degree to make it work, just some trial runs and some patience, read through the manual a few times as you test different contents, etc .... it works.Just remember, 3 red-dixie-cup drinks max volume; The good thing though is once it has run a cycle, the "freezing cylinder" is chilled to a point that the next cycle with your next round of 3 drinks is chilled much faster...Bottom line, for the price-point, not bad if you're not looking for large volumes, 2nd & 3rd rounds of use come out much faster after the cylinder is cooled.
