Vivid pigmentation and so smooth!
I have fallen in love with soft pastels after using these!! I’ve used other brands and these are softer, smoother and more pigmented than other brands I’ve tried! No wonder my drawing 1 professor recommended them!

Wonderful
I am new to Pastels, and just went nuts and purchased a whole bunch! This was the cheapest of all the ones that I bought, and I actually think I like them the best so far!

A lesser value than the 36 color set
Update 10/26/18: Results of lightfastness test: Most colors passed the south-facing window test. The colors that faded are #21 (Medium purple pink), #22 (Magenta), #23 (Violet), #37 (Flourescent pink), and #38 (Flourescent rose). Original review, slightly revised: These are reasonably soft pastels that apply well to sanded papers and boards, leaving only a little dust (in that respect, almost comparable to the best), with mainly rich, clean colors. I already had the set of 36, and decided that, at this price, it would be nice to have this set of 48, which I expected to include a lighter blue, green and pink. Instead, I opened the box to find that there are extra white and black sticks (which very few serious pastelists use), and 4 fluorescent colors (professional?), and no improvement in the range of tones. As with the Artists Oil Pastels by Mungyo, there is no mention of ASTDM standards for lightfastness. I will make "swatch" pages with both types of pastel, tape them in a south window, and return in a few weeks to post the results.

Yup, it’s pastel
I bought this set for the crimson and carmine specifically. Usually I’m not one to buy too many colors because I prefer mixing my own, but the vibrancy is great especially considering the price. I only use these for dry wash, and they are everything I wanted and expected, they mix well, look great, and don’t chip when scraping into powder.

Very good quality
The quality of the pastels is very good. The packing was great, so no broken pastels. I won't recommend this for a beginners, it is a high quality product.

It’s not soft
It’s Hard not soft at all . If you want use for portrait do not recommend.

Colors lay nicely
Color saturation is very nice. Can't wait to really get going with them. What I really like is these dont crush the pastel paper even with multiple layers and blending. So glad I got them.
