Great iron but question mark over reliability.
These are fantastic irons and giving it three stars for durability might be harsh for this model... however, this is the third Bosch iron of very similar type in four years. I’m not sure I can trust them in terms of reliability. Shame they are so damn good to actually use as I get tempted back for another each time!!!

Good iron well priced
Definitely not light weight but this means it makes quick work of the ironing, no effort required. Easy to fill with water, but does throw out so much steam on the lowest setting I need a towel on the floor under the ironing board to protect the floor. Only real flaw though is there is no way to keep the cord tidy whilst storing it, on the other hand the cord is a great length which helps with ironing awkward clothing as iron can twist around angles easily at the end of the board.

Rather heavy but fantastic
New year new iron. Heavier than my last iron but does the job much quicker. Three steam settings is amazing. Ironing done in half the time.

Great iron let down by terrible handle design
This Bosch TDA5071GB Steam Iron was bought to replace a Philips which had always been a poor performer since new. The TDA5071GB is an excellent iron and my wife could not fault its steam action, the temperature control and ability to turn it up in temperature when needed, something the Philips with auto sense could never do. The ultimate test was with the granddaughters Hamma beads which fuse together when heat from an iron is applied. The Philips fails miserably but the Bosch works perfectly. The lead length is also an excellent length. So why did we return? The handle design is terrible. There is a two part moulding that meets along the handle for its entire length on both sides. the two moulding parts are made up of two types of plastic. As you pick up the iron you can hear it creak as the two parts mate/slide against each other. On ours the split line wasn't perfect and allowed the soft tissue part of your fingers on the palm side actually get trapped within the gap that then closed down with the iron weight as it was lifted. To make matters worse the edge felt sharp, the translucent plastic being quite hard. After a session of ironing it left the fingers quite sore.Whilst on the look out for a replacement in a retail store we looked at other Bosch irons and they all suffered from a similar problem to some extent, all creaking and some having the moulding gap. As a result we ended up with a cheaper Philips with a good old temperature dial.

Sleek piece of equipment
I bought a replacement to my old b1 Sensixx but this recent one is far superior. Perfect design and no issues so far excellent . The cord is very lengthy. It has better steam control
