This was exactly as described. Honestly, I didn't believe that it would fix my already hard brown sugar and I was ok with that as long as it would help prevent future losses. I put it in the container and when I checked the next day, it was as soft as when I bought it! So cool that this simple little thing actually works!

I gave it a rinse and scrub when it arrived then soaked for 15 minutes and dried off the surface before putting into my very dried out brown sugar. Two months later, it's restored and kept the sugar usable.

Great little brown sugar saver. This terra cotta is solid and smooth, not crumbly at all. It's also a nice thickness. Size fits easily into a wide mouth canning jar which is what I was looking for. Would buy this product again, it's a winner.

The only thing about this is that when you soak it and dry it off, it’s still slightly damp. The brown sugar immediately around it hardens but the rest is soft.

Finally started buying brown sugar again. I was previously just adding molasses to white sugar whenever a recipe called for brown sugar but that takes a little more time and effort to fully incorporate the molasses. This works great for keeping brown sugar loose and soft. Needs to be soaked in water periodically to work but the first soak has lasted 2 months so far.

The package arrived with a rubber band around it. I thought that was kind of strange, but whatever. I pulled it off and the brown sugar saver parted in two. The package was also unsealed along the side. Crossing my fingers that this was just a fluke, but I’m very disappointed. UPDATE: Got a new one, and it works like magic. I’m so happy! Soaked for fifteen minutes and stuck it in with my brown sugar.

This actually works. I had my doubts that something so simple could keep my brown sugar from turning to rock but it does. I store my brown sugar in a large air tight container so I put 2 of these in and it actually softened the sugar. I highly recommend these.

I put the terra cotta brown sugar saver in a small bowl of water; the instructions said 15 minutes, but I left it there for a few hours as I went to do other things. Patted it dry, put it in my container of rock solid brown sugar. After a couple of days I returned to the container and with a fork with mild to medium pressure was able to break the brick up into small pieces, and then the small pieces into the crystals of brown sugar that we'd all like to see. Came back a few days later still, and the brown sugar is still soft, so the piece of terra cotta is working perfectly.

Softened my solid brick of brown sugar overnight. Impressed. I think it's a little overpriced for what it is, I've seen them cheaper in stores, but ordered here for the convenience. My grandparents had a similar one when I was little so wanted to try. So far so good.

Works like a charm! Had rock solid sugar, that I had to smash to place I'm a container. Clay puck is actually softening it! After two days, sugar crumbled enough to add another block of sugar. I've been resoaking the clay puck every 2 days given how dry the sugar is. Have read you can get these from Canadian Tire or other place for around $5, but for the convenience of having it delivered, I'm ok with the price
