Large bright objective lens with zoom.
Although this comes with a mini tripod, I would recommend you use a regular one, as the provided one is only good for table top type use. Zooming the eyepiece requires a little bit of refocusing, but one can use it fairly close up in confined spaces (I used it inside my house with no problem). I like the big objective lens as many spotting scopes have only a 50 or 60 mm objective lens. Good bang for the buck, especially for us Canadians (with our low dollar). Came well packaged, box within a box. Bought it for use at the range to see targets more clearly at distance.

Amazing beginner scope!
This scope is sturdy, comes with a short tripod, and isn’t heavy which makes it perfect for hiking and sight seeing. It also doesn’t take long to learn how to use the scope and adjust the lens. In fact, it only took a couple of minutes to get set-up from unboxing. This scope only has two knobs - one for focus and another for zoom, so it is very easy to use. I also love that the box came with a case to put away and carry the scope. For the price, I certainly think this item beats my expectations and is a perfect buy for the beginner or novice explorer, such as myself.. As someone living in a big city, this is a perfect way to get better views up close of the bright city lights, building architecture, and boats on the bay. I can’t wait to bring it with me on the mountains! ***I don’t believe this scope is meant for stargazing so just beware if that is what you are looking for. Photos: I can see the NYC skyline up close from my 7+ mile away north-facing apartment in Brooklyn! The views are even better on a clear night! Second photo is the new JPMorgan Chase headquarters lit up in LED on New Years… all from about 8 miles away! How cool. 😎
