More bang for your buck
I am writing this review after two full years of using this knife, and it hasn't let me down yet! I am a three knife kind of guy: one chefs knife, one bread knife, and one paring knife. It keeps my kitchen uncluttered, simple, and most importantly costs less money. That being said, I put more value in quality than price - my daily chef knife has been the $150 MAC Pro for years. When I first started looking for a paring knife, of course I was attracted to the big names like Wüsthof, Global, and Henkels. However, after reading the reviews I decided to give this little guy a chance. I'm willing to spend $40 on a paring knife, but I can certainly spend a few bucks to see if I like this one more. I'm so glad I did - this knife lives up to the all the other glowing reviews. It comes sharp out of the box and has stayed that way with very little decline in my time using it. The handle is comfortable enough in my hand (I'm right handed, but it's symmetrical so a lefty would also find it easy to use). The blade holds up to tough use but is slightly flexible so it feels more like an extension of my hand. The best part is the price! Great performance for 1/3 to 1/5 the price of comparable products. That's a winner in my book. If there is a negative, perhaps I would prefer that it had a little more heft. If weight is very, very important to you, go give an all-metal Global a try. Otherwise, pick up one of these knives and get a great product for a fraction of the cost of another paring knife.

This is a fantastic knife, for any price.
I have to edit this review after getting some more time with this knife. This is some of the best money I have ever spent. I keep this knife SHARP with a ceramic honing tool and as long as I keep it off the cutting board it will stay that way. It wows me every time I use it. It performs well on the board, but it does lose the razor sharp edge rather quickly which makes re-honing the edge necessary between tasks or even during tasks. However, this knife is so sharp that you can forego the board and work in the air above your bowl if you want, with complete control and confidence You'll have to re-evaluate how you cut vegetables when you use this knife at it's proper sharpness because a whole world of possibilities opens up. Super thin slivers are completely possible and transform the way you make salad. No more chunks of cucumber or tomato falling to the bottom of the bowl as you try to mix it in vain, if you slice thin it will all come together nicely. And the fact that it's so cheap is just the icing on the cake. You won't regret this purchase

I use this more than my Wustoff paring knife...
This knife is sharp and light-weight, with the perfect size blade for paring. It's a pleasure to use: it's perfectly balanced, and the lighter weight and slightly smaller size makes it more agile and easy to angle and manipulate than my more expensive paring knife. I can peel just the skin or pith off of things, without cutting into the fruit or veggie at hand, I can remove membranes off grapefruit slices and oranges, and cut salami, hard and semi-soft cheese and/or butter wafter-thin. It's a convenient size to pack in a picnic lunch too, although I wish it had a sheath. I am considering buying a few more, so I don't have to constantly wash it after each use, and carefully put it back in the same slot of my knife block, so I am not searching for it, or grab my Wustoff knife by mistake! I am also looking at buying a full knife set from this line, even though I already have a complete (and expensive) one. I plan to do a little research to see if all the knives in this line are as good. I can't believe this product isn't better known. If I hadn't seen this reviewed on "Cook's Country", I never would have heard about it. Probably because it is sooo inexpensive.

WIrecutter loves these knives. I do too, but they get dull and are not easy to sharpen
Handy. Light weight. Great size. Will cut a tomato so thin you can read through it. They will sharpen to a razor edge but need to be sharpened more often than my more expensive knives, and for reasons that I don't understand, take longer to get a great edge. Worth the effort, I think.

Another one to beat the price vs. performance curve.
Victorinox knives have long been proclaimed the best bang for the buck (although they use different words than I do) among many reviewing bodies, including Cook's Illustrated/America's Test Kitchen and The Sweethome. In my humble opinion, this knife carries on that tradition. From a strictly utilitarian standpoint: It's a very sharp knife, and easy to handle. Bottom line, you'll do a lot more with this knife than I have found on anything within it's price. The review sites say you'll have to pay MUCH more to get a better knife. On the other hand, there IS a price to pay for getting the cost down. The knife blade has quite a bit of "give" to it. I don't suspect it will break with normal use, but it doesn't take much pressure to bend the knife. And it LOOKS like a cheap plastic knife, for those who are at all style conscious. Bottom line? It works great. And, at the price, you won't care if you lose it. Pros: + Sharp! By far, the best of anything priced even closely to it. + Good balance, easy to maneuver. Best of anything priced even closely to it. + Cheaper than a professional sharpening! Cons: + Plastic looks cheap. It won't look very impressive on your knife block. + Flexibility in the blade may be bothersome to some. + Relies on the ridges in the handle to prevent slippage.

One of Several Best Knives from Swiss Army
Knives are meant to be sharp and for our safety the sharper the better. Many blades arrive in an unbelievable sharpness condition only to find that the blade loses its sharpness quickly. Recently, we adopted the rule that is we need a new knife we will opt for Victorinox Swiss Army (SWA). Many other brands are a lot prettier and 'stylish;' however, SWA is usually sharper and lasts longer over normal use. When I have something to cut, it is cut by SWA. I am not much on eating pork ribs without a knife that works. With my 3¼" SWA I can take a whole slab of ribs and cut between the bones with ease and end the meal with nothing more than a few spots of evidence of a sloppy old man. It is also my pizza knife and turkey cutter. I use other blades for roasts or French bread.

I use this knife much more than my MUCH MORE expensive paring knives
I LOVE this lightweight paring knife! Absolutely love it. I never would have bought such a cheap paring knife if I hadn't been given one. I fell in love with it and find myself reaching over my Wusthof, Trident, Misen, Henckels, Shun... all the paring knives I have long loved. In fact, I'm an admitted knife snob. I like VERY nice knives. I had to face the fact that while I have spent six times the price for a high-end brand paring knife, this little Victorinox is my favorite. I love the thin blade and find it nimble and it's easy to peel and to slice - you can accomplish very thin slices that add elegance to the appearance of your dish. I don't use it for cheese - I use a chef knife for that purpose because I need the heft. I use it for things like peeling, slicing tomatoes, cutting out stems, and making very thin slices of fruits or vegetables. In fact, I just bought my second Victorinox paring knife because everyone in my home who loves to cook is always using it - while I need it, too! Do keep it sharp. I sharpen my knives at end of day - every one that I've used that day. I take very good care of my knives and they reward me for it. I have to admit I was very surprised at how much I love this little paring knife. I'm considering getting a Victorinox chef knife. My go-to chef knife cost just under $400. I can't help but wonder if I'll prefer a Victorinox at a tenth the price. The most important thing you can do with ANY good knife is never, ever put it into the dishwasher, wash and clean it IMMEDIATELY after use, and sharpen it every day that you use it. DO NOT use electric sharpeners - use a whetstone or diamond embedded sharpening stone or plate. YouTube channel, Burrfection, has fantastic videos about knife sharpening, care, use, and how to find the knives that are right for you. I highly recommend that channel if you're wanting your knives to make your work a breeze.

My favorite knife by far!! Extremely maneuverable, sharp, and easy to use
Don’t let the lightweight feel of the knife fool you. This sharp little baby is a champ and lets you easily maneuver your produce, quickly completing your tasks. Although I have brand new JA Henckels International Classic knives—which include a paring knife—I always pull out this paring knife first. This knife cleans up easily and releases food more easily than my JA Henckels knives—and any other knife I’ve used, actually. I absolutely LOVE this knife and need to get a bunch of them for my family & friends for Christmas!!

An excellent and economical option
I have already been using the longer blade version of this knife for some time, so I knew I would like this smaller one. Is very sharp and holds it's edge for a long time. America's Test Kitchen tends to either endorse Victorinox knives or at least list them as the best economical choice. I have several other knives by this company and like them all.

Great quality
This is my absolute favorite kitchen knife. Keep it sharpened as it gets dull fairly quickly but always cuts super well. The blade is very thin so this adds to the ease of cutting.

Best affordable paring knife
I've learned to not cheap out on kitchen wares (especially knives!) over the years as you get what you pay for. However, this knife is cheap and might be one of the best paring knives out there. Mine has stayed sharp over constant use throughout the year. I recently just re-sharpened it and it feels like new. Best $10 i've spent.
