Can a story be this great! This leaves me in a state of ecstacy. I could not help but smile wide on these stories. This is much more beautiful than the stories are ever meant to be. This is masterful, wonderful and glorious.All of the stories are similar in nature to the ones my grandmother used to recite to me in my younger days. Infact, i imagine myself reciting these stories to my grandchildren in my older days.The stories are full of moral lessons and wisdom. They provide us an insight into a great deal of deep thinking about topics that have confused humankind for long such as religious mortality, nature of God, existence of God, etc. He has produced a true kind of literary masterpiece.It has got so many generas, the stories as wise, funny, scary and full of life lessons. One of the stories includes an attempt to answer existential questions through being a part of a higher plan. Tolstoy moves through these tough topics such as God, Morality, and existentialism easily by giving examples, metaphors and analogies

Wonderful, deep and profound. 23 short stories, each one has its own flavour, quite a few of them have deep philosophy woven in it. Considered as one of the greatest authors of the world, his short stories are now tempting me to read his acclaimed novels. Tolstoy, apart from being a writer was a religious thinker too and his insights are clearly reflected in his short story- The Coffeehouse of Surat.A great read for me.

These short stories book is very interesting. Who started reading books. Better to choose your favourite genere or short stories.

One feels the greatness of Tolstoy. The beauty of the writing. If only one could read in Russian!

The book arrived in excellent condition. However the translation is very childish. I have read other translated works but this one didn't hit the mark.

I would like to recommend anybody to read this short story by Tolstoy.

I really love Leo's books many years ago i did read some of his books, but not short stories.
